Just overall a terrible experience
We came here to get married and the service has just been awful. I really could not recommend this place at all to anyone. Key highlights: -my 67 year old mother fell and injured herself on the day of my wedding. Instead of treating her, the doctor refused to provide service unless she signed a waiver. -our guests hibachi reservation was turned away because they were late due to the extensive wait times and slow service, despite showing up before they opened. -on our last night here, half the restaurants were closed. We waited more than 90 minutes for a table at the Mexican restaurant.

Better than expected at Dreams Las Mareas
The grounds were kept very clean. The staff was very attentive to our every need. The room was well stocked and clean. Shout out to Seidy at Manatees swim up pool bar. She's a great bartender. I also want to mention Keva our concierge. She was there for anything we needed. All in all, it was a much better experience than I expected.

A tropical Oasis
Overall the Dreams was a wonderful place to visit. It is a long ride to the hoyel from the airport, but once you are there it is worth it. I loved that they had different pool areas anf that the beach is also right there. Now the beach is not this pretty blue waters and white sand they seem to show on the photos, at least not when I was there, but it is still a cool beach. I liked the fact that the sand didn't stick to you and that it was compact. The waster was nice and low, but not really blue(and could have been time of year. I'm not sure) I think yhey could put more attraction at the beach b/c I don't feel they made it very welcoming for guests, so you may question if you want to sit out there or not. At least that is how I felt when I first went to explore rhe beach. From they way I went it wasn't attractive at all. And you get bombarded w/ppl trying to sell you activities or massages. However, there is another entrance to the beach which is a slight more appealing, and ypu don't get attacted as much, but I feel there is no staff down there, so if you want anything you have to track back up to the pool area, and you might not feel your stuff is safe unless you have someone watching it, b/c there are locals and kids on the beach walking around. So although I like the beach area it needs some attention to make it more appealing. As far as the rooms they were nice it's just that for that bathroom area you only have a curtain to separate ypu from the living space. The shower and toilet have separate doors, but when you walk out your in the room. So the bathroom is not separate, and is only separated by a curtain which I didn't jotice until like day 3.. Luckily I was in the room with my mom so it didn't matter. You may get monkeys on you patio so keep door closed or they will come in and Steal snacks or sugar etc. You're not suppose to feed the animals, but ppl do and you shouldn't b/c they start to invaded. They have raccoons as well that are much larger than the ones in America. And they are around especially at night. But they are more timid and not as invasive as the monkeys can be. But overall they weren't a bother. We didn't get monkeys on our patio until like that last 2 days. We were here for a wedding and it was very nice. It rained unfortunately so the wedding was moved to inside one of the restaurants. Which it was still pretty. The only thing was at the reception, there was another one going on as well so the sound between the 2 walls was NOT good at all. We could hear there music as if it was in out room, so when ppm were giving speeches it was hard to understand them. That was probably the only bad thing about the wedding. And they probably should have moved the wedding g to the reception area b/c it was quite big and could have been an easier transition into the cocktail and reception time.

Not Worth It! Weddings beware!
If you’re considering having your wedding at Dreams Las Mareas, here are a few important points to think about: 1. Lack of Preparation: During the rainy season, the venue seems ill-prepared. There’s no backup plan to relocate your ceremony unless you’re willing to pay extra for indoor space or tents. 2. Unfortunate Experiences: I witnessed a wedding reception take place in the rain, with guests trying to eat while holding umbrellas. It was quite uncomfortable, and the service continued outdoors despite the downpour. 3. Additional Costs: Be prepared for upcharges on everything. It would have been reasonable to expect a contingency plan for inclement weather, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. I do not recommend!
