Could Have Been Nice, But . . .

Pros: Large room, big bath towels, quiet on inside, staff very nice and helpful, very quiet A/C and heat unit. Cons: service staff on strike beating drums and tambourines, blowing horns, and yelling slogans and playing loud music which started at 7:30 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m.(my room was on front side of building so I heard it all). At least strikers were nice and would allow guests to cross picket line with no problems. No remote for TV and had to call and get one (but it was provided promptly), coffee pot leaked when used, and restaurant was closed (so no room service either) due to strike.

    LA in a budget

The location and facilities was good. There is 7-11 store across the road, very convenient. Breakfast was decent. No newspaper or complimentary coffee or water in the lobby unlike at the Doubletree in Burlingame SanFrancisco. The Citadel mall is nearby , 20$ on Uber, for those who love bargains.

    Shower before you stay

Hotel is centrally located. Parking is easy. Bed is comfy and great size television. Nice cookies Clean room Wanted to request another room due to the bathroom being Nasty and unsanitary. But I checked in late and was just so tired. However the tub/shower made me wanna vomit. Knocked my stay down to a 2 star recommendation. Nasty!

    Mixed Feelings

I booked here on the latter two nights of my trip to the Los Angeles area primarily based on proximity to Little Tokyo and price. The location is solid, convenient to public transportation routes and within good proximity to anything in the downtown core. Staff throughout the stay were warm and helpful and the cookies provided at check in were a nice treat. The room was solid but unspectacular although it was quite large for a downtown hotel. There was plenty of seating and I think this is one of the few hotels I've seen with a bedside table large enough to accomodate a seat. The room was clean enough and the beds and pillows were all very comfortable and supportive. The bathroom was small relative to the room and there were a number of cleanliness issues. The wallpaper near the baseboard closest to the shower was peeling and looked stained. The shower had mould growth in the vent on the ceiling as well as in the caulking. In addition to this, the shower curtain appeared to be stained and was yellow. At least the shower products were of solid quality (Crabtree & Evelyn) and were stored in bottles. The wifi was pretty slow and disconnected frequently with a weak signal to boot. It wasn't a terrible stay for the price I paid, but I probably wouldn't book here again unless it was the most viable from a price standpoint.

    Erroneous Billing

Read through the other reviews about extra charges. It can't possibly be by accident that many times. I was charged an extra charge from their restaurant that was not mine. I have called four times, left messages, to get it resolved and no response or resolution. I am HHonors Gold member and an HGVC owner and this is the worst customer service I've every encountered and straight up dishonest billing practices. The hotel itself was fine, nothing special. The surrounding area is absolute trash. I woke up to someone crawling through the dumpster when I opened the curtains. Never will I stay here again and recommend you don't either.
