    Rethink reserving this suite.

We knew construction was underway at the pool area. What we DIDN’T know was that the Newport Suite, for which we were charged over $2,000 per night (over $7,000 for three nights), is on the third floor. The pool area under construction is also on the third floor. The suite is right beside the former pool area. The suite’s sliding doors are (understandably) locked and the glass is covered with a mostly opaque film to protect the glass. You can’t see out of them. The entire suite is in dire need of refurbishment. The suite’s “kitchen” has a refrigerator, microwave and sink…but nothing else, e.g. utensils, plates, paper towels. The sitting area furniture is in dire need of being replaced. Had I “known then what I know now,” I would have reserved multiple rooms.

    Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Had a really great experience. The staff was very nice, warm and welcoming, we checked in early since our room was ready. The rooms were really clean and very spacious, there was also a refrigerator in the rooms so if you wanted to grab milk with cereal you could grab those and other little snacks in a snack lounge located across from the lobby. The hotel was under construction which they did let us know apologizing for the inconvenience which wasn't an issue because the walkway in and out of the hotel was clear. We checked in Monday and out by Saturday. Great experience planning our next stay at the Paradise Pier. My 7-year-old had a ball since that was her first time going.

First time there, overall not too bad.

The location is better than I thought with the ability to access downtown Disney via the Grand Californian (just need your room key to Paradise Pier to get into the gate) and access DCA via the special entrance to the right of the Grand Californian entrance. The rooms are fine. In terms of just the room where you sleep, it is comparable to both Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian IMO. The biggest difference is the lobby and grounds which aren't anywhere near as nice. For us, that's not a big deal because we spend 90% of our time in the parks, downtown Disney, or in the room. If the pool/lobby/grounds are important to you, I'd pick one of the other two. Also, they are under construction while the hotel changes to Pixar Place. Didn't bother us one bit but we are also a family who is up and out of the room by 6:45am so whatever construction work was going on, we didn't notice it. At this point, our favorite of the three properties is the Disneyland hotel but at current prices, we would choose this one every time as it's not enough of a difference to make up for the $150-200/night more that it costs.

    Neat lower cost Disneyland resort

Had an opportunity to stay here for 1 night. Had some construction going on. It slept 5 comfortably. 2 queen beds and 1 daybed. Only downside was 1 bathroom. Still an awesome hotel with it's own entrance to California adventure with room key right aside of Disney's grand Californian. Within walking distance to downtown Disney and Disneyland.

    Old fashioned and inconvenient hotel

Staying at this hotel was a poor experience. It was under construction, so even getting in and out of the hotel required navigating construction vehicles and walking in driveways. The room itself was old and mediocre; there wasn’t even a place to charge my phone on the nightstand. The location was still a long walk to Disney. The pools at the other hotel were nice but a decent walk away. I thought that staying at a Disney hotel would enhance the convenience and improve the experience, but I wish we stayed at any other 3rd party hotel with modern rooms, or at the grand Californian with a better location and facilities.
