Bypass at all costs!
2 is for the Bag, Valet and front desk service, which, they should get a 5 but the other sour staff and poor conditions of the hotel really deserve a 1. Housekeeping seemed highly annoyed and bothered when asked fie additional towels on separate occasions and with different members. Yes, they have a grueling task but a tad bit off hospitality goes a long way. And we still tipped generously. The heart of the low rating is the horrible condition of the hotel. It is like a Motel 6. They do not have ANY microwaves on the entire premise for guests. When you're in NOLA eating and leftovers are mandatory, therefore, microwaves and refrigerators should be too. Refrigerators are available upon requests. The room had a cat piss smell, which we had to get our own carpet deoderizer and Lysol. Additionally, the carpet had a big red kool-aid like stain, which again, was not initially noticed. There was blood on the shower curtain, which we did not initially see. The room was next to the pool, which thankfully, no one swam in. The furnishings were Ikea-like basics. Barely put together and when needed, caulking was placed on by what seemed like a three year old's handiwork. Valet Parking is $55 per night, 4 blocks away. When exiting, you step into Meth Zone, so prepare yourself and watch EVERYTHING. Been to NOLA plenty of times and this is by far, the worse accommodations ever experienced. Again, sans a few pleasant and helpful staff members, this place is to be avoided at all costs. Photos would only make you nauseous.

Unpleasant Experience
A few notes on the poor review: - Front desk staff had no knowledge on simple queries like, 'where is a nearby cafe?' - Room was okay, did the job although lack of water pressure - Ate breakfast at the hotel. Food again was average but when it came to pay two of the staff members advised that the bill was $135 going on and on about special, expensive coffee beans, inflation etc. They went on for a good two minutes before advising that they were joking and gave us the proper price - approx. $35. Extremely off putting, not funny at all. Another guest noticed and shared that they were tricked similarly the day prior. I would not suggest this hotel to a friend.

great location, beautiful lobby, dated sleeping rooms, surprising meeting space
At the corner of Canal and Bourbon, this hotel is IN THE THICK of things. With Mardi Gras having started the day before our arrival, the party was already in full swing. Our sleeping room faced Bourbon Street so it wasn't quiet but that's OK. I loved the second floor balcony that overlooked the revelry. I'd rather be over it than in it. This hotel is convenient and walkable (though, you'll get wet and dirty) to most things you'd want to do and see in town. It's not a super safe area but just stay in groups. The hotel front desk staff were friendly. The banquet staff were also really helpful and on top of things for all of our banquet events. The sleeping rooms are fine. Dated yet spacious. There is no refrigerator or microwave. Our room was fine. Our housekeeping the first day was great. The second day really left a sour taste in my mouth. It was so disappointing and I just wish we had hung the DND door tag. Trash cans weren't emptied. Only half the towels were replaced. The bathroom floor corners were pretty gross. I don't like my bed touched during my stay as I get my pillows all set where I want them. I leave a note asking for my bed to not be made. The first day, my request was honored. The second day, all of my things had been moved (I had PJs and a notebook AND MY NOTE on the bed and all were moved elsewhere in the room). My personal pillow was in a weird place. I had washed a travel mug and it had been taken off the tissue where it was drying. Ew. I'm bummed that second day experience tainted our visit.

Christmas/anniversary
This was our first time in New Orleans, LA. We stayed at hotel Astorcrowneplaza and had a wonderful experience. One of the staff member name Sam was very helpful in providing info on local dining and transportation ( tram use) and making our trip fun in a short time. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and made our stay at the hotel awesome. Employees like him makes travel fun and we will stay again at the same place. Thank you Sam and we wish you the best!!!

Great service from front desk
We had a short stay in New Orleans after a tiring day and the front desk staff were very helpful in accompanying our request. I asked Dikshita (DJ) to accommodate our requests as we were traveling with a kid and she was very kind and listened and accommodated our requirements. Overall it was a great experience checking in and we are very pleased with the service.
