For those of you that have stayed here for years, like I have.
Wyndham has not improved the place. There are fewer servers and you are now required to wait for servers rather than help yourself at the snack bar. You must now be seated at a table for a lengthy period of time for a quick snack of chips and coke. They added day beds that must be rented from the front desk for an additional charge. At the same time they took the cushions from the beach away making the lounge chairs unbearable. They need to add more sand to the beach area. And it is no longer possible to get a chicken taco even once during a 6 day long stay. I feel like Wyndham drove away most of the great regular staff and replace with young guys that refused to bring water to your table (even after tipping generously every meal). They replaced the coffee in the lobby with an instant coffee machine. Good location close to downtown while still having a great snorkeling. Although, after staying here for 10 years, I'll probably try elsewhere next time.

Not good.
Don't like leaving negative reviews but very dissapointed here. Supposedly 4 stars but little things need addressing to get anywhere near that. Staff are excellent, not their fault. No fridge or coffee/tea making facility in room. Was quoted $30 a day for a fridge, $420 for our holiday! Two small bottles of warm water a day, threadbare towels in bathroom, no glass or anything for toothbrushes. Everything closes at 11pm so can't get hot or cold drinks anywhere. Water dispenser in corridoor consistently empty. Security march into lobby bar at 11pm, turn off tv and lights and order you out. Pool water was green for three days so unusable. Electricity and water been off for three days, 8am to 2pm. Beach area is ok but hard wooden sun loungers with no cushions make it uncomfortable. The dive school is very good apparently but if you're just after a comfortable all inclusive holiday go elsewhere. Very poor, if any, entertainment at night. Can't see much evidence of "remodelling" the whole place is run down. We still have 5 days left, just waiting for the next let down.

Great week in Cozumel
Overall great experience. The hotel is rated a 3 star but it definitely exceeds, the hotel and rooms were very clean, restaurants had a great selection and always lots of seafood. Great Snorkeling right from the beach. And most of all the staff was amazing. Sylvia at breakfast, Erik at dinner, Our bartender Daniel and Keira and Louisa at lunch and all afternoon around the pool. We booked very last minute and got far more than we expected. We will be back

The worst after 5 times
We are not having a great experience this time at Hotel Cozumel. We booked a pool room, got a room on a busy street. They changed the room for us and now we are in a handicap room next to the back entrance. Door is insecure, furniture missing. This is our fourth time here and we always recommend it to our diver friends, but no more. The staff, except for Rudy and the in-house bar tender, just don't seem to care. It's hard to catch someone's eye at breakfast for coffee, food at the buffet is bland and mostly cold, the presentation is sloppy. The room is in bad shape, the TV doesn't work, beds are worn and hard, no blankets one towel per guest. The jacuzzi is not on all the time during the day. It must be requested one hour in advance. The lobby cafe only made hot water. We said something to the lobby host and he said "leave it in the comments". Here we are. Paradise Dive, no answer on their email, no assistance offered no refund. Shop was always very convenient but bad weather canceled all dives. This happens, but the hotel in disarray made it worse. No more.

Not a hotel avoid
This is not a 4☆ this is a Motel with fake pictures. Your advertisement is a lie. The furniture in the bedroom is very old & marked up, dresser drawers that fell out. We had a table that wobbled and chairs full of holes, mirror covered in paint There is no refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot no bottled water. The linens & towels were clean but always stained & threadbare. Beds are on a concrete base.Staff are so rude and ignored us every single morning we asked for coffee and every time we had to ask 2 or 3 times fir a spoon as they kept ignoring us.told to leave the beach on Friday as there was a wedding taking place by Sunday we still had to bed the wooden beds and mouldy topper by ourselves as beach still wasn't cleared from wedding. The closed in bit at the beach is so grossly mouldy and most tiles have come off or are broken.
