Couples Swept Away Honest Review
This was our 26th visit to Couples Resorts and the most disappointing. We have stayed at CSA many times in the past in their beach front rooms. Last week was an extremely warm week, even for Negril. The air conditioning in our room did not work the first night. We did call the front desk, and they sent maintenance to look at it. He did not repair the unit and we tried to sleep in a very warm room that night. I went to the front desk the next morning and reported the issue. They called the team leader of maintenance to take another look at it. We went to the beach that day and I thought I would check the room around noon. I found that the air conditioning was working but there was water from the closet to the back wall. I then went to the front desk and requested to be transferred to a garden suite at their sister resort Couples Negril (CN). The front desk called over to CN and I was told that this resort would call back with availability. The front desk then asked the assistant manager to come talk to me. The assistant manager said there would be an up charge going from their beach front suite to the Garden Suite at CN. The assistant manager and I went to our room to look at the water situation. He said it was pretty bad and that he would move us to another room and give us resort credit for the inconvenience. I asked if someone could clean up the water before we packed our things for safety reasons, and he said it would be done. My wife and I went to lunch and in about and an hour and half later came back and packed our luggage, and the water was still there. Later in the day we unpacked in the new room and there was a message on our phone to call the operator. I called and the operator said, "why weren't you in your room to clean up the crap?" I said we weren't told that we had to be there to do so. During this whole ordeal, I contacted my travel agent and she said there was a garden suite open at CN and that she would transfer us over at no cost. My wife and I we didn't want to pack our things up again and said we would stay put. Well, the new rooms air conditioner wasn't working either. We called that evening, and they did come and charge the unit and it was fine. We first visited this resort in 2006 and it is not the same resort today. We consider some of the staff at CSA to be good friends. But we might be considering other vacation options.

Awesome place
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is not very big which was a plus and the service was amazing as was the food. The grounds were well kept and the beach was beautiful. Loved getting breakfast brought to our room and eating out on the balcony with an ocean view.

We’ll be back for sure.
Terrific holiday; super location - the beach is simply breathtaking; warm water, powder sand lots of natural shade. The kind of beach you dream about - simply idyllic. The hotel is very relaxed, super friendly staff, a good standard of food in all locations. Lemongrass was outstanding, Feathers a bit odd given the relaxed nature of the resort but a nice change to dress well for one night. Excellent activities included in the price - Julian in the water sports team is an absolute legend - looked after my wife on the snorkelling trip and ensured she overcame her fears and had an unforgettable time on the reef. Pools are not so great and the pool bar is a bit tired but the beach more than compensates for any shortcomings. Overall a super holiday - excellent value for money,

Very good, but staff are lazy and lacking! The regular staff proved to be lazy and lacking. The “Trainees,” are amazing!
We especially loved Judeen, a trainee who is committed to service and excellence! Other staff, Paul, water sports, Dametri, water sports we’re both hit and miss, more miss than hit! The food was a HUGE disappointment for us as Jamaica AI have always been more than excellent. The restaurant “Feathers” is great! 4.5 stars. The Lemon Grass and the Palms buffet are really bad…sorry! Service there is good, but food and choices are poor to pitiful. Not even eatable in some cases…even breakfast buffets! Go to Patois (pat Wa) which is something they do not advertise but is absolutely worth your trip. Better lunch , breakfast and even dinner on occasion. Try to make reservations for Feathers! It’s fantastic and service is amazing! We’ve two days left so if we find new issues or positives, we’ll update! The grounds are gorgeous and the resort is excellent as far as up keep and condition! We loved it all! Just be wary about food! Also find your servers and show them appreciation through tipping although you don’t have to!

Not happy with stay. Payed too much for mediocre resort.
My husband and I have stayed at numerous all inclusives in the Caribbean and Mexico. We are very laid back and don’t really like glitzy places. The positives: 1) Beautiful beach with the clearest water. 2)Catamaran tour and snorkeling trip were fun. 3) beautiful sunsets. Now the negatives : 1) Property is a little run down and needs some sprucing up. 2) The mini bar in your room consists of 2 beers and 1 soda? They never give you more then that even when you request it. Snacks in the room would be a nice touch. 3) Room service is only in the morning and consists of stale danishes and muffins. 4) Several days there were no beach towels available even though we checked at various times during the day. 5) Dinners at sit down restaurants were good but buffets were lacking choices and were cold. 6) They had no control over the vendors but their constant shouting was annoying and every day groups of kids would come up to your chairs asking for money. 7) They do not have bottled water( which I like) but the filling stations are right next to the soda dispensers so there are swarming yellow jackets .8) My husband likes soda but you have to get your own and there is never more then one kind( forget diet soda) 9) The employees working there seem so miserable like they hate their jobs. You feel guilty asking for anything. Unless they invested some money doing upgrades and pay their employees more so they weren’t so unhappy I would never return.
