Amazing trip
My husband and I went for our first trip together in over 20 years. We loved everything about the resort. The open air registration took our breath away from the moment we got off the bus. Our room was clean and spacious. The food was great, and there were different options each night. We enjoyed the watersports and Ryan was the best! I would recommend Couples Negril to anyone and can’t wait to return home.

Loved it so much, we are planning another trip!!!
The food and drinks were wonderful. The whole staff were very hardworking, helpful and friendly. The grounds were always kept cleaned. There was never a lack of beach chairs around the pool or on the beach. I really can’t say anything bad about Couples Negril.

Sadly, overall a disappointment
This was our third trip to a Couples resort (the first 2 trips were to Tower Isle). Sadly, it was overall a disappointment. Service / staff friendliness was inconsistent. It appeared that the younger staff were nor interested at all in being friendly or helpful. Some were just plain rude; not all, but enough that it was noticeable. We were in building #3, which is the closest to the main road, so you get to hear vehicle noise all night. Nothing says "good Morning" like the sound of a large truck using its exhaust manifold braking system. The resort should warn you in advance and offer those rooms at a discount. Bar service on the beach was almost nonexistent. If you could get the attention of one of the staff whose job it is too make sure guests have a fresh drink you were lucky. The wooded deck at the main pool is in need of serious repair. There were a lot of exposed screws protruding from the deck boards, and if you were not careful, you could do serious harm to your feet. On the positive side, they have a nice fitness center, the catamaran cruise was a lot of fun and the grounds were very nice. This visit has convinced my wife and I that we should broaden our horizons and consider staying somewhere else (at least for awhile).

Probably not again.
We stayed at another Couples resort twice and decided to try Couples Negril. After this visit, we are likely to not go to a Couples again at all, or at least not for a while. Housekeeping was outstanding! The weather was fabulous. However, the food was inconsistent and seemed repetitive throughout the resort. (IF you like beef and lamb, you are good to go.) The Asian restaurant was very good. Our biggest complaint was staff. Everywhere service was either lacking or the staff was almost rude, or at least not interested in helping us. On several occasions, we asked for something either at the table or on the beach and were either forgotten or ignored. At the beach in particular, there seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to who got service, or when. While housekeeping was great, the outside of our building constantly had bits of trash in the plant beds and the stairs appeared to have not been swept for a while. The grounds were otherwise lovely. We came to expect wonderful from the other resort, but this was definitely not it.

Not worth the high accommodation cost. Poor accommodations and service.
We have visited several high-end hotels in Negril over the years and Couples Negril was by far the most expensive, yet had the poorest service and room accommodations. Our underwhelming room had overly worn furniture and was only large enough to hold the king bed, two large end tables and TV stand. The room was described as a “water view”, but is was a garden view with about 10% of the view showing water in the very far distance. The shower leaked water all over the floor each day which was annoying and a safety Hazard. The food was good, but not any better than other hotels in Negril that we have visited. But the buffet had very few entree choices compared to other high-end hotels in Negril. Several dining staff members were poorly trained in basic food service etiquette and quite frankly appeared not-so-happy to be working in their roles. Management indicated that they have had some employee turnover, but that is no excuse for poor service and rudeness we experienced. When going to the beach each and every day, we had to wait to get beach towels because the towel station wasn’t open on time or they had simply run out of towels. One day it took waiting almost 20 minutes to get the towels. This is just bad management and a culture that doesn’t embrace service. The one highlight of the trip was Tavoya in guest services, who helped with general questions and arranged our private catamaran tour, and the catamaran captains that took us out on the water, Willie and Omar. They were professional, knowledgeable and fun. Working with these three individuals was the one saving grace of the entire stay at Couples Negril. They clearly understood the meaning of exceptional service!
