Star prestige section at the beach
Excellent overall. Rooms, beach, houskeeping, star prestige lounge staff, restaurant staff. - Simply the best. We will be visiting again soon. Only hiccup: We are star prestige members, and booked at coral level. While in the beach all day, for 8 days, we noticed waiters all day attending to the " coral group in the coral palapas section. The star prestige members had to go to the lounge to order drinks, and there was 1 time on thursday , that there was a waitress taking orders for a few hours in the morning. And we were offered a tomato gazpacho 1 time. The star prestige lounge bartender was excellent. But there was no waiter assigned. We felt that the star prestige members who have paid for their memberships, were the forgotten cousins, as the focus was on the coral level clientele. We were thinking of upgrading from silver. But in light of that, we will hold off and see what the situation is at the beach on our next trip. Thank you Iberostar

Great Stay at the Coral Level Iberostar
Our stay at the Coral Level at Iberostar was a top notch experience!! From the staff that greats you (Andy/Eudy) to your concierge (Jacob) that can assist with all your reservations, the bartending staff (Vincent) and management Leidy and Darion. The staff all over the property is professional, pleasant and fun loving. We stayed in the Villas on the property will pool access, which was relaxing. The room accommodations were very comfortable and roomy, joint room options for families, an excellent night sleep. The food was plentiful and had a variety of choices to cater to all and the wait staff was fantastic, very attentive! The beach and grounds are impeccable and well maintained, we relaxed on the beach for hours. if you enjoy golf the course was We would and will go back again!! The only request is to have more information available regarding shows/nightlife and the other properties. We like to dance but ask for more inclusivity of music genres to appeal to ALL versus just techno. This is all inclusive property, so they are not expecting a tip, but do tip them they work hard to make your experience memorable. Terrence & Yolanda 5/13-17 2023

Enjoyed
Our second resort this vacation was the Iberostar Coral Level. The visit started out rough...the guard at the gate couldn't speak English and our driver couldn't speak Spanish. My husband had to write his name on a paper but the guard still couldn't figure it out...10 minutes later and cars beeping behind us...WE WERE IN!! We were dropped at the Club lounge to check in but our room wasn't ready so we had to wait..1.5hr..with no ac in the club and a bar tender that didn't know what an Aperol Spritz was just added to the experience. Second impression...this place is HUGE! like a village. But you can get golf carts to move you around. Our room was nice. Lots of room and a nice deck. The buildings are only two levels. Bed was comfortable with nice linens. We took an nap one afternoon and put the do not out but the maid and the bar service guy both knocked. AC didn't cool the room but the ceiling fan helped. They have water filling station through the resort so bring a thermal bottle. We used the small quiet pool most afternoons. No one there and it had its own bar tender. But you can only get towels at the beach. Food was good. Buffet the usual stuff. Lots of bugs especially at the buffet and the theatre. Magic show was fantastic but most nights it was just the kids from the kids club or singer. The Club Level breakfast buffet was on the beach but the service was awful and my pet peeve....if your going to serve tea do it right! don't bring a cup of luke warm water from the kitchen, then bring over a selection box of tea to drop in a tea bag into the cup....get tea pots!!! OMG!! We were going to stay 9 days here but were lucky to be able to upgrade to the Grand next door. not sure if we'd put it on our gotta go back list....

Excellent
We stayed at the hotel on the week of May 3rd. This is an “hotel within hotel”, being part of the Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites resort. All rooms are closer to the beach, with a dedicated breakfast buffet and 2 restaurants that serve nice food. The whole area is quieter than the nearby hotel, although you can access all facilities and restaurants of the Bavaro hotel as needed. The hotel is not adults only, although typically we saw a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the louder Bavaro. Still, if you are looking for adults-only hotel, your only option is the nearby Grand. Room: We had a room in building 34, which is the first row to the beach. Room was very clean and well equipped, although the air conditioner sometimes had a challenge keeping the heat and humid outside the room. Housekeeping service is very efficient and is provided twice a day, which is great. Restaurants: The breakfast buffer at El-Faro is excellent and staff is very helpful, ready to help with any request. For lunch, you can use the El-Faro for a full lunch buffet, or go to the nearby Bavaro for a fast food style food. At evening, your only option is the A-La-Carte restaurants, unless you go to the main buffer at the Bavaro. El-Faro has a buffet only once a week, for Dominican special night. Food at El-Faro was very good. We also tried the Italian, Steakhouse and Mediterranean. All were decent, but none was really exciting. Still, it can be a nice change instead of going to the buffet every night. Entertainment: A big positive surprise! The star friends team were really great and were around all day to keep people happy and occupied. Special shout to Coca Cola, DJ Canqui and Big Papi for being so great! Make sure to check the nightly show schedule at the Bavaro Theatre. They typically have a 45 minutes show every evening at 9:30, which mostly were great. Drinks service: The hotel has one beach bar that service both El-Faro and the beach/pool service. Staff constantly go around to bring drinks (special shout to Doris – you are great!), so make sure to tip them for their hard work. Unfortunately, not many people do so.

Relaxing Holiday! We will be back!
We, two adult couples travelling without children, visited the Coral Level for the second time in April 2023. We had visited in May 2022 as well and this year was even better then the previous. We experienced no difficulties with anything. We were not approached this year about attending sales presentations this year though there was pressure the previous year in May 2022. We are beach folk and did not spend anytime at the pool. Having stayed at the Iberostar Selection approximately 12x previously, we spent most our time relaxing under a palapa near the Bavaro Selection Beach Bar. We like the Caribbean music played there throughout the day there vs the Coral area which was extremely quiet. The bar service at the beach was lovely and the cocktails fantastic with real fruit and no slushy machine mixtures. The Pina Coloda and the chocolate monkey were my favourites. There was minimal to no sargassum on the beautiful Bavaro beach during the week we were there with the exception of one day after a very windy night. What accumulated overnight was promptly cleaned up by staff by 8am daily. Having been to many beaches in Caribbean, I have to say that the long beautiful Bavaro Beach is my favourite. We ate daily at the El Faro buffet for breakfast. We loved eating outside on the gorgeous beach every morning. While there were not as many options as that available at the larger Bavaro Selection Buffett, we were always able to get a custom made omelet, eggs to order, fresh fruit and breakfast meats and numerous other selections daily. We chose the quiet gorgeous beach over the additional options available at the Bavaro Selection buffet near the main lobby area. We ate at three la carte restaurants- the Steakhouse, Japanese and El Faro. El Faro was our least favourite this year since on the night we attended there was no menu or choices just a four course meal prepared and served which lacked in quantity and taste. We had different experiences the previous year where were able to order from the menu and enjoyed live music during our meal. The Steakhouse was our favourite and we enjoyed the Japanese Teppanyaki as well. We found the Bavaro Selection buffet to have very good food and options especially if you attended earlier in the evening when there are fewer guests. We particularly enjoyed the seafood and the flavourful Indian cuisine available. We did not attend the evening shows as having been to the Bavaro Selection many times previous and seen it all before. The shows are generally good for all-inclusive evening entertainment. This year there was a live Dominican band playing music one day at the Bavaro Selection beach buffet which we very much enjoyed. They were fantastic and one of the favourite parts of my stay at the resort. We did not attend the Casino or the disco so cannot comment either. The rooms were renovated during the pandemic closure and are fresh and clean. Everything worked well for us at the room. With an added tip the mini bar was filled daily with the drinks we requested- cola zero and mucho cerveza. Our maid was by every morning and cleaned the room very well. They came in the evenings as well though we often indicated no additional cleaning required. One of the favourite parts of this resort is the rooms which are located in eight unit villas rather than the large hotel like buildings typical of all inclusive resorts. These villas offer much more privacy and with balconies in the gorgeous gardens where you can sit out and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the birds and ocean. The Coral Level villas are also in close proximity to the beach, pools, coral lobby and El Faro restaurant/bar which is very convenient. All staff at this resort were friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed having the Coral Level lobby staff who were always close by and available to help. We will be back!!
