This Comfort Inn needs some updating. The rooms are tired and worn. The cost was reasonable, however, the experience was not great. The doors to the rooms are not tight and this causes a security concern. The bathroom was in a need of a refreshing. Overall a less than satisfying stay.
Worse hotel ever!
We have had the opportunity to travel extensively all over and stay at hotels of 2 or 3 stars. All of them have been great except this one. Allow me to start with the staff. Customer service at the main lobby desk was extremely poor. Some of them have attitude and were unable to answer simple questions about how to get around using public transit. When asked about the wifi problems the answers we got were deceiving. Blaming technical problems. We were even suggested to use our own cellular data plan. A wifi access was given that did not reflect the hotel name. Usually hotels identify their own network. This place was filthy. The furniture is outdated and dirty. Horrible. The elevators were not cleaned in days! We found a cockroach in one of the elevators. We usually tried to have our breakfast around 8am. The last time they ran out of milk. ??? Certainly this hotel needs a new management and a robust renovation. In our last day at this place, we asked if we could leave our luggage as our flight was scheduled late, so we have time to spare. The night before checking out we were told that they will give us tags. To our surprise we were told that they don’t have tags and that they are not obliged to hold d our luggage. This is standard in many hotels worldwide. Certainly they need to re-educate their staff in customer service, their interpretation of customer service is that you don’t complaint or you don’t bother me. There were no telephone available to communicate from our room to the main desk. The freezer was not working, as well as other appliances. Please do yourself a favor and do not stay at this place.
This hotel is disgusting and has major plumbing issues
The toilets overflow, tub drains super slow, unable to fully turn off the water faucet. The rooms are filthy, broken and rusty furniture, matted filthy carpet. The entire hotel is very outdated. The outside boardwalk has broken boards, some with holes in them. Someone is going to get sick and/or injured at this property. Very disappointed, especially for the money that we spent, over $170 per night. I would never stay at a Choice hotel property again.
A Loyal Customer At This Location Will NEVER Return Here Again!
We’ve stayed at this location 5+ times over the last few years…because of the location and because we knew what to expect with it being part of the Comfort Inn brand name, and sadly, this is our last stay at this facility. It is very outdated and in need of cleaning and freshening up. Here’s the issues we had this trip: - we checked into our room at 1am after driving 1,000 miles. No luggage carts could be found, and the elevators were slow and squeaky in the cold weather. - Anything would have felt good, but we noticed things were bad right away in our room. Upon coming to the room for the first time, the door was not completely shut, and therefore not locked. The carpet was dirty, felt sticky on my feet, and mold on the ceiling near the beds. We stayed in 519 (the receptionist seemed hesitant to put us in that room at check in…maybe he knew it was a bad room…don’t stay there!). - the lamp near the tv was rusted and sticky and needed to be replaced. - the mattress nearest the bathroom/door had broken springand had uncomfortable indents. I was too tired/sleepy to complain that night, so I dealt with it. - the next day our room was serviced by the maid staff (YAY!) but upon getting back to our room at midnight, we noticed the door was unlocked and open again because it didn’t latch. Incredibly frustrating. - the next morning we alerted the front desk about our door issues when we left for the day. When we can back to our room at midnight, our keys didn’t work, and after 3 trips up and down the stairs to have keys reset, the maintenance man followed us up and replaced the lock for us on the door. - we didn’t have maid service for the rest of our stay. When I asked, the front desk said maid service is “every other day”. There was a stack of people complaining about it at the desk- they were told “it’s the holidays…”, or “three of our maids called in sick today” so clearly there are staffing issues, coupled with a busy holiday season. They should have been clearer upfront on the expectations. Not only short staffed, but the maid service was very loud in the hallways during the days. - the TV was not functional- had to have the friendly maintenance man bring a replacement remote because the original had rusted through. - breakfast was a joke. They were out of eggs and sausage every day and the clearly did not have enough food to handle the people staying there. My husband asked if there was more eggs and they said “no, our supplier can’t get anymore”. - I tried a few times to inquire at the front desk about the multiple problems but didn’t anywhere with the staff. “It’s an older hotel”, “we’re trying as best we can”, and “please be patient” we’re the answers we got. I will be contacting corporate about this experience because this hotel is hurting their brand and is far below what I’ve come to expect at these hotels across the country. I stay for 2+ weeks a year in Comfort Inns and this experience has made me scope out other hotels in the area before leaving so I can find another place to stay next year. Please beware before booking a stay- and don’t stay in 519! Please give the nice maintenance guy a raise. He was friendly, helpful, and tried to make the best of a bad situation.
Hotel was run down web pictures were false advertisement. There were little white bugs everywhere. Tried talking to manager several times and he was either busy on the phone or in a meeting. Don’t stay here!!!!!
