Great, Convenient Hotel to Sand Key Park
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel! We were in town for the Clearwater Marathon that started and ended at Sand Key Park, this this hotel was very convenient. It’s walkable to Sand Key Park ~ 5 minute walk or they also have a golf cart that will take you over there. No complaints on the rooms! They are nice and all have a beautiful view of the bay. We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching the water. There are convenient food options within the hotel - Waterhouse Grill and Kokomos. Waterhouse Grill is their fancier option. Be prepared to pay $25ish for a basic breakfast or more for dinner, as it turned into a steakhouse. Kokomos is outside by the pool and has more casual bites. You can also walk to a strip mall maybe 0.3 miles south that has a few restaurants and shops. We did this a few times! There is a Trolley that runs every half hour that will take you to the north side of Clearwater. We did this once as well to enjoy the shops and restaurants up there. It’s a little less convenient because you’re tied to the schedule and route, but it’s free for Marriott guests, so we can’t complain! Overall, this hotel was perfect for our home base needing to be Sand Key Park. We would definitely stay here again!
Close to the action with some quiet.
Great pool with waterfall and bar. Water sports on sites such as jet skis Trolley will take ta 5-7 mins into busy area with food and drinks. Nice alternative if you dont want to be in the thick of things
A great stay but be sure to check your bill before checking out
We first stayed at this property when it was one of the host hotels for the Suncoast Jazz Festival. We loved it so much we returned a month later when we were back in the area. Because of the set up every room has lots of space as well as a spectacular view of the water. For Platinum and Titanium members there is a choice of a free breakfast which is quite ample (smoked salmon, meats, cheese besides the usual cereal and pastries) or for $5 extra you can upgrade to bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes and made to order omelettes. All of the breakfast servers were helpful and went out of their way to prepare our coffee as requested. Upon checking in I was told that the pool was closed for renovations so I would be getting a $25 restaurant credit and could also use the pool at several other properties (one of which is across the street). This seemed like a reasonable solution. After checking out I got a bill which showed that the credit had never been applied. I called and no one got back to me. I called again -- same thing. On my third attempt I spoke at length to someone in accounting who confirmed that the credit would be issued, but it never was. I then tried emailing Jennifer in accounting, and again there was nothing but silence. I finally called the Titanium help line which solved it for me. (When Jennifer emailed me there was no apology or acknowledgement of the considerable hassle it took to get the issue corrected.) If I wasn't a Titanium member I'd probably still be waiting for a resolution.
My husband and I arrived around 11pm and we were taken aback with the exclusive tropical location. Our check-in with David was courteous and welcoming Our rooms have a unique "contemporary coastal" vibe. It had an open walkway, with a front room that has a bar with a sink, a leather sofa, and a TV, the bedroom also has a TV and a balcony overlooking the elaborate pool area. This Marriott will definitely be a favorite spot to re-visit.
Very nice hotel with great customer service
We checked in very late on Monday night and Daniel at the front desk was awesome getting us our room and giving us information about the hotel and the local area. A great start to a long anticipated vacation!
