Midge is absolutely FANTASTIC! Every time we are at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno we look for Midge. She is fun, funny and the strongest, tiny woman, I know! Seeing her always enhances my GSR experience!
Circus Circus needs an update desperately
We booked a room for one night since we were stuck due to the snow. We were tired and just wanted to rest. The front desk wouldn’t even try to help us check in early. There were 4 workers just standing around talking to each other and did not try to help us. Once we checked in they put us so far away, it felt like we walked for miles. The rooms were so plain and sad looking. It’s too bad they don’t put more effort in customer satisfaction. They’re letting this casino run to the ground and it definitely shows.
BEWARE OF THIS HORROR HOTEL
I will never go here again… first of all be carful to never stay in the Casino tower. It was never renovated and has the same furniture since 1978 (the other towers I’m assuming look like the pictures online) when booking online I was expecting the pictures on there not some murder horror hotel room. I arrived and had the worst feeling about the floor and the room imaginable. It gave me a weird feeling being up there and I could not relax at all. The bed felt like a pull out bed from a couch. I barley got through the first few hours of the first night and the next morning I noticed blood stains in the spa tub along with bleach stains on the carpet, it looked like they cleaned up a murder scene in there. The next day I go down to the front desk and ask to change rooms, we had paid for the spa suite and I was begging them for a standard room. I told them you don’t even have to downgrade the price. Just please let me sleep somewhere comfortable in another tower. They told me they only have that tower available and gave me another room across the hall, it didn’t feel as crime scene as that one but it was the same layout on the same floor and I really couldn’t do that again. We went downstairs and checked out and they still charged me for the first night even though we had such a horrible experience and didn’t even arrive the first night till 4am the next day from being stuck in a winter storm. This hotel is completely trashy, uncomfortable and we will never be staying here again…
Nice facility, kind of like a ghost town with lines due to very little staff.
It was a nice visit with little going on. You need reservations for eating because good restaurants are open reduced hours with limited staff when they are open. Light traffic all day long with small crowds at shopping centers and entertainment.
Lovely overnight stay in a Reno casino - even though we don't gamble- worth a stay.
We stayed here for one night whilst visiting Reno to see the sights including the fantastic National Automobile Museum. We don't actually gamble but stayed here as the hotel location and price was good. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious. The bed really comfortable and shower lovely and hot. We dined that night at Cafe Central in the adjoining casino as nothing much seemed to be open in ours. You access the other venues walking internally through from one casino to the next, not having to go outside. Food was lovely there - nice big serves, good friendly service and very tasty food. We enjoyed wandering around looking at the sights and sounds of the casino, including the big ornate mining tower inside. Check in took a while as there was a bit of a queue, but the staff manning the desk were very friendly and helpful. There were no room trolleys for guests, should you wish to take your own possessions from your car to your room and not use the bellboys. The TV in our room worked well but did not have much free movie choices- more choice would be better. The walk from the parking garage to our hotel tower was fairly long, and a bit confusing for us- we got a bit lost the first time. Overall, we did have a nice restful overnight stay here.
