    The Staff makes the stay

Our stay at the resort was great. The food and service was excellent. Staff members such as Joel, Wilbert, Fredi, Angeles, Fernanda, and Alfredo made our stay superb, but all staff was very kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

    Italian Restaurant- Gourmet dinner

Joel was the best, very attentive. We had the gourmet dinner and this was the best dinner we have had here. Would recommend Joel 1000% when you come to the Italian restaurant. David was the chef, the steak was fantastic and Sual is a great manager!!!

    Stay away! You’ve been warned.

Stayed here for 7 nights in March-April 2024. In short: the whole resort seems to be under pressure to cut corners and save money at every turn. Even if you get a good price here, you’ll still feel ripped off. The bad: - Want a crepe? Enjoy the long line. Want a drink from the pool bar after 6? It’s closed. Want to swim in the pool after 7? It’s closed. Want to stay at the (too brightly lit) sports bar after 11:30? It’s closed. Want a late breakfast buffet? It’s closed. - The Rooms: Outdated, spartan rooms. Like stepping back into the 1990’s, but in an old worn out way. - Bad sound insulation: you’ll be woken up at the crack of dawn by all the birds outside, and then by maids moving furniture in neighbouring rooms by 9 am. - The thermostat didn’t seem to do anything: the only way to control temperature was switching the air conditioning on and off manually. - Room security: the balcony door latch was worn out and didn’t lock. And it’s fairly easy to jump the barriers between balconies. - Fire safety: it’s older and unrenovated so there’s no sprinklers in rooms, corridors or stairwells. And the sleeping area buildings have thatched roofs. - Not nearly enough outlets for today’s devices - one single plug (not a double outlet) by the bed, one hiding in the safe, one in the bathroom. That’s it, unless you unplug the TV or fridge. - And then our single plug by the bed was so loose it stopped working by the last night. About that fire safety… - You’re not here to watch tv, but tv’s are very small by today’s standards. - All our clothes, even the clean ones that were hanging in the closet, smelled musty after a week in the room. - Bathrooms: the bath tub is so old the coating had been fully scrubbed through and patched in places - with a footprint outlined in the middle!? And the fixtures are the oldest and most worn out I’ve seen in any hotel or resort, anywhere ever. - Slow, tiny elevators. - The drinks: they love using pre-made drink bases for the usual resort mixed drinks, dumping them in the blender with ice. Expect sweet slushie everything, unless you ask otherwise. And then they probably won’t be happy to make them by hand. - Watch how little alcohol they pour into the drinks. You’ll just get a splash unless you ask for more. - Beer: There’s just one beer, Modelo lager on tap. That’s it, unless you go to the “night club” for Corona. No beer in cans, no other beer of tap. If you even want a lime wedge, you’ll have to ask. - Buffet food is repetitive and bland. I’ve never eaten so many meals off the resort to avoid the resort’s food. - The burger bar only has four burger options, and had an hour long wait when we tried to get a seat. - A la carte reservations: You have to go online and compete at exactly 8 am daily for reservations at the Mexican and Italian a la carte restaurants - it’s just as hard as getting hot concert tickets. - A la carte reservations: Part of problem with getting reservations is they’re deliberately or incompetently underbooking the restaurants - the “fully booked” restaurants were often half empty or more, only seating 4-5 tables every half hour. - These restaurants are actually only open 6 nights a week, not every night. One was closed on a Friday night! - Everything here has very specific, often narrow hours that control where people go and what they do throughout the day. It ends up making whatever’s open in this small resort feel crowded. So many unnecessary crowds and lineups. The (mostly) good: - Most of the staff are friendly and hard working, aside from some grumpy overworked bartenders. - The Mexican a la carte restaurant food is good, if you can ever book a seat. - Comfortable mattresses , but uncomfortable pillows. - The juice bar made good juice, but has very limited hours. - The Catalan hot dogs are really sausages on a bun, but ask for double meat or you’ll only get half a sausage. - The snack bar had good fried chicken, but only if you get it when it’s fresh. - There was decent snorkeling thanks to the rocks offshore attracting fish - but the beach’s sand is very thin.

    Tasty Italian

Italian restaurant was delicious! The appies were great and the lasagna was mouth-watering. The ricotta and tiramisu desserts were also mouthwatering and we wanted seconds. To make it even better, Joel was a phenomenonal server too! He provided insight into the menu and went above & beyond!
