    Food needs improvement

Beautiful property and staff is amazing. The restaurant's are hard to get a reservation but don't waste your time as the food is not very good. The buffet and sports bar are your best options. The reservation system is a hassle and not worth your time!

    Terrible service

The service is terrible. The lack of attention to the guest is regrettable. You have to wait in line to enter the buffet, to have breakfast, and the poor disposition of the employees is general. We are a group of 50 people and we cannot make reservations in the restaurants, they are not prepared to receive large groups. I will never return.

    Great resort for families

Overall we had a lovely trip to this resort and it’s a fantastic resort for families. Our room had a great view, bed comfortable, room cleaned everyday. The buffet was better than many other resorts I’ve been to, my kids only wanted to eat at the buffet even though we made them go to try all the restaurants , lol. Entertainment was well done, you can tell the staff enjoy what they do and there is plenty to do all day and night if you want. Plenty of seating around entire resort and very lush beautifully well maintained grounds. We really enjoyed the coffee shop each day. We originally arrived at their busiest time of year and we felt like the service fell short (but I realize as I watched them bust their buts to keep up to the demand they didn’t have enough support) Later once the big rush left it was back to what I assume is normal for them and their were smiles again (these go a long way and I dont know if resorts understand just how much this impact guests and their experience and outlook, smiles and happy workers creates a higher vibration which is so important as this resonates with everyone around) . Finally service improved signifcantly and they came around multiple times to see if we needed any drinks and when they asked they remembered to bring them. Loved that they had an on site photographer, you dont see that much and should really take advantage of this perk! This is what I noticed they need to change; 1)because we were there during busy time , chairs were hard to come by and people reserved mutiple chairs in mutiple areas. They should have specific resort towel clips with number given to guests and if there’s no clip, towel is removed. You need a new clip you have to pay… 2) pool’s need to be heated. It was so cold it was past the point of refreshing and more a cold plunge. I’ve never experienced a resort with pools this frigid. Even the spa which it said on brochure heated pool was cold. I’m assuming its to keep guests out of pool and away from pool bar to save money? 3) The grill restaurant was the best for food and service. However I felt all the restaurant’s were inferior to all the many resorts Ive been to over the years, the dishes need more heart in the food and presentation. Buffet is the best which is sad when they have so many restaurants on resort. 4) need beach umbrellas 5) need more areas to hang wet clothing and bathing suits outside

    Catalonia grand costa mujeres resort!

An absolutely beautiful resort, stunning views, plants, flowers, wildlife! Our first visit and can't wait to go back! All pools, swim up bars were spectacular and always a hot spot. The beach was very nice even with a little seaweed issue but showers beach side no big deal...beach bars and fresh juice hut all fantastic and the fruit cannot be matched for freshness! The rooms were very clean and all views regardless were beautiful and house keeping was the absolute best! Treat them well they deserve it and work non stop! THE FOOD! Spectacular 5 star across the board! The buffet is by far the best you've ever seen and everything delicious and fresh! Some of the best soups I've ever had the pablano cream of the charts!! All seafood the absolute freshest and Mexican beef is hard to beat and quite frankly rib steaks nightly and melt in your mouth...enough can't be said for the desserts and the service was absolutely the best! The house wines are French chateau and quite frankly fantastic..an easy 96 or better! The lobby bar was a daily visit just for sheer friendship and great service and most importantly Javier, Vincente and everyone there you were the best and all drink masters! Restraunts and street food are incredibly good...the booking is a little work but good things are worth it..it can be done and you can generally get a seat if you're nice! Take the complainers with a big dose of salt! The food is excellent period! The Cafe and sweets amazing, street tacos, burgers, pizza absolutely anything you want plus the buffet!!

    Amazing resort

Having been to the Cancun area 16 x now I have experienced the good, bad and so so. It's currently day 2 and it's been very good far. Easy to make reservations..even before we arrived. Resort layout is easy to get around, not too big. Staff have all been excellent!! We didn't get our welcome package..yet... bottle of sparkling wine and fruit but whatever.. We have a ground floor pool room.we even got the room number we requested..that's never ever happened before!! The only problem with the ground floor was we found a scorpion on our floor. It took less than 2 minutes to get staff to take care of it! We just put a glass over top of it. They don't serve alcohol before 11 so I had an alcohol free margarita. It was better than one with tequila. Don't pay attention to the bad reviews, they come from novice travelers who don't have any experience and their expectations exceed what they paid for their holiday. Chill out, have a good meal enjoy the terrific staff who will always work hard for you if you treat them with the respect that they deserve.
