*Important Information for our guests*
The Dominican Republic imposes various restrictions each year for Easter. The restrictions usually begin the Thursday prior to Good Friday, and run a few days past Easter Sunday. The following regulations may be enforced:
*Motorized and non-motorized watersports may be banned
*Alcohol consumption may be restricted (most resorts obtain a special permit which enables them to serve alcohol to non-native persons during the ban)
*Music may be limited or silenced
These rules are designed for the safety of everyone, as beaches get extremely busy during this period.

Perfect Holiday
I will start my review by mentioning that we have travelled as a large group of 14 (7 rooms) with Exclusive Traveller Club. Therefore I will not review the rooms as these are always excellent. Last time we visited Catalonia Bavaro was in 2019 and we were pleased then as we are now. Dining: The resort offers a variety of dining options, including buffet and à la carte restaurants. The Grand Caribe Restaurant serves a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the Pizzeria Sorrento offers wood-fired pizzas that are a must-try. There are also several bars, including a natural juice bar and an exclusive bar for privileged guests. We have dined to all restaurants in the resort and the ones at the adults only. Generally, the food was good and I believe everyone can find something that they like. Bars: 90% of the time we have spent at Pure Bar where Ivelisse and Irrael are the masters of cocktails during the day and Angela in the evenings. I cannot praise them enough. Always smiling, ready to help and doing the extra mile. At Curacao bar I have to mention Daris and Nicole as they were great at mixing drinks. Activities: The resort offers a wide range of activities to keep guests entertained. Options include aerobics, bike rides, water sports, and evening entertainment. For those who enjoy staying active, the aerobics classes are energetic and fun, providing a great workout with a view of the beach. Bike rides around the resort are a wonderful way to explore the lush surroundings and enjoy the tropical scenery. Water sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the clear waters for snorkelling, kayaking, and windsurfing. In the evenings, the resort comes alive with entertainment options such as live music, dance shows, and themed parties, ensuring there's always something exciting to do. Amenities: The outdoor pool is a standout, offering a refreshing escape with plenty of loungers and shaded spots to chill out. The full-service spa is a peaceful haven, with a variety of treatments like massages, facials, and body wraps to help you unwind and feel rejuvenated. The resort also has a lively casino where you can try your luck, and a well-kept golf course that's both challenging and fun for golf lovers. These amenities add to the variety of activities available, making sure there's something for everyone to enjoy. Service: The staff at Catalonia Bavaro Beach Resort are exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a warm smile. From the moment you arrive, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Whether it's the front desk staff helping with check-in, the restaurant servers remembering your favourite drink, or the activities coordinators organizing fun events, their dedication to excellent service is evident. Housekeeping is thorough and efficient, ensuring that your room is spotless and well-stocked with amenities each day. They even add thoughtful touches, like arranging towels into creative shapes, which adds a delightful surprise to your return to the room. Here I have to mention Felix and Jensy from ETC team that looked after us. Franceli and Yomary from the ETC concierge who were great. Although my review above may seem too good to be true, I can assure anyone reading it that is genuine. As I have mentioned at the beginning, we have travelled as a group of 14. It is very hard to please everyone, but in our group everyone was thrilled by the experience lived for two weeks. Sure, there are mistakes everywhere, but what is perfect? For us this was the PERFECT HOLIDAY!!!!

Worse hotel in punta cana
I wish I can rate this place as -10 the experience was horrible, pool was closed, place is old and moldy, when I ask for the GM (Mariana)she desired not to make her self available for any guest concern, rude how come you have a general manager that refused to talk to your guest, it’s us the guest that pay your salaries, i will never come or recommend this place, also please train Minerva you “front desk Manager she is far from having customer service skills. This place is after your money with zero customer service skills. They should replace them all.

One of our best holidays
The hotel overall is great, the food is lovely, staff are friendly, helpful and so hard working. We upgraded to privileged, you get a few perks like 10% off in shops and 24hr room service and the rooms are better. Maria Bel’en and Masibel were outstanding in welcoming to buffets, always a big smile 😊 Halloween was fantastic, so much thought went into decorating and food, they thought of everything. Will definitely come back.

+ the resort itself is nice + the layout, plenty of space + variety of food + premium Jr suite is spacious +clean +staff is quick to respond when issue -food is just meh, could be more flavourful -soundproofing is lacking especially on the ground floor -housekeeping is loud in the morning -shower is tiny -no place to hang dry clothes in the room -ran out of beach towels daily Party of 7, 4 rooms. Many staff members’ English or French was lacking. 2 rooms had toilets that malfunctioned. Maintenance was quick to come fix them.

BEWARE A POOR 3*AT MOST ANIMAL LOVERS BEWARE
Beware this resort lacks quality of any kind. From food to cheap alcohol. Calling themselves eco now and I am all for helping the environment, but this is cost cutting plane and simple. so changed from plastic bottles for water in the rooms to glass, however this doesn'teffect soda which is still plastic, but no where to refill water once beach and pool bar closed. Also glass in these areas is dangerous and no working air con!! To many things wrong with our room, beware we booked a preferred suite with Tui, but these don't exist when you arrive they offer a privilege option which is different!! Final straw for me, there was a very tiny white and black dog, very vulnerable as had pups recently. Everyday at the beach this little dog would crawl under a sunbed and just sleep, never interfered with anyone, was getting lots of cuddles because it was so cute. On this particular morning the dog approached us we stroked it and it followed us across the beach, at this point 2 beach guards jumped out at us and asked for our help to capture the dog, as it was not well and needed to go to the vets. Being concerned for this animals welfare we agreed to help and placed a make shift lead around it's neck. The guards then pounced on this poor defenseless dog and I can still hear it's screams in my ears, a sound I will never forget, they must have really hurt it, they were laughing. I asked another member of staff where the dog was being taken and was told they had been instructed by management to remove dogs and it would be dumped some way from the resort. I was heartbroken and couldn't believe I was complicit in this stinking act. I made a complaint to the Management who then started to treat me as an imbecile and said she had been taken to a village inland to be reunited with her pups. Despicable liars!!! For all I know this poor defenseless dog may already be dead and maybe her pups to. So if your asked for help it won't be fir a genuine reason We will never return or recommend the Catalonia group, not to be trusted.
