    We'll be back

    An overall excellent trip. Will return. Yes, some furniture a bit dated, not a deal breaker at all, functional, bed was comfy, AC was excellent. No complaints. We should have planned our entertainment better, ie we felt we missed some, we were on the Luxury side so had to actually go to the Grand side kiosk to see what was on there. There was a 'solo singer' in the Daiquiri Bar that we caught the end of. She was EXCELLENT, disappointed we didn't see the whole set, or more of her. Bob Marley tribute was excellent. MoTown review outstanding. Solo sax player also a standout. Only did Buffets for breakfast or lunch. All very good. Pices was the typical 'go-to'. Best a la cartes: Don Pablo, Picasso, Mikado. I can't recommend the Brisket at the Knife more. Really enjoyed the beaches on the Runaway side. Quieter, more intimate. The breakwater reef was teeming with fish of all types. Bring a mask and water shoes to appreciate.

    Dirty looks, eye rolling and disrespect

    We stayed here for 2 weeks (May 2024) going to Jamaica was a childhood dream of mine, so my husband took me there for my 55th birthday, but Jamaica wasn't what I expected sadly. The staff ruined this holiday for us, they were very, VERY rude and unhelpful, looked at you like dirt and wouldn't even speak to you most of the time. We had a real bad downpour and I see 4 girls wiping down outside chairs so naturally I went over to ask if I could sit on one of them I got shouted at "NO, NO, NO, NO YOU CAN NOT SIT THERE" so I waited and watched, the chairs were only being wiped for these who wanted to smoke sisha, so I asked a man in a black suit who was passing at the time if someone could wipe a chair, so I could sit down, but he didn't bother he just went and stood behind check-in desk Everything was too much, you got a lot of eye rolling and dirty looks Most visitors to this hotel only book in for 3/4 days mostly Americans and Canadians they 100% let rip, it was like 18 to 30s club at Ibiza all waving dollars at the pool bar and if you wasn't waving dollars you were invisible you are treated so differently. Room - someone came in everyday to make the bed, take dirty towels and to tidy up a little but it wasn't cleaned. The food - I could take it or leave it, we got room service most nights (not nice) burger, hot dog, chips ALWAYS COLD but better than the food they were offering in the mine dining area. We eat in the dining area a few times and in the poolside tent but when you have cockroaches running across your table while eating it is a little off-putting, I eat toast most of the time. Beach - Not many beds on the beach, you can't swim in the sea because it only comes up to your knees. We did meet 4 beautiful, kind people who had time for you - a lady singer by the name of (Celicea Ellis) Look out for her, she was fantastic, she has a voice of an angel, a tall gentleman who worked behind the lobby bar, and a wonderful, helpful man who helped us with our bags. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE TO BE HONEST, THE WAY WE WERE TREATED HAD ME IN TEARS, BUT IF YOU ARE AMERICAN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU BECAUSE THAT'S ALL THIS HOTEL CARED ABOUT. FACT!

    Picture perfect-staff (95%)maybe shouldn't work in hospitality

    Background: travelled with family ages, 22-79 (mix British and American) 5th time to Jamaica since 2003. First time with Bahia Principe Luxury The hotel is lovely with great views and amenities, it's very large there are two side the Luxury and the Grand, but effectively, it's all under one roof, with two receptions. Rooms: Large and spacious, shower worked fab. AC worked also. You get a small bottle of rum in the room on arrival, but this is not replaced when finished, so there is no IA in the rooms for alcoholic beverages. Room service was fab and was used frequently by younger family members and they said it was great, even in the early hours, again can not order alcoholic beverages. Exceptionally clean and the grounds are immaculate. Be aware if your on the luxury side, when we booked it wasn't clear, but all bar one of the restaurants are on the grand side, so if you want a true adults only that's not completely accurate. We can go to their side Grand can not come to us, although you can pay $12 per day per person to enter. The beach is better in the grand side, so stayed by the pool most days. The down side was the staff! they are not a true representation of Jamaicans, My sister and her husband joined us and was there first visit to JA and I was actually embarrassed. So rude, even on human level I would not expect to be treated like this. Every single one of the group experienced it throughout the holiday. left a couple of us in tears at one point. As a family of eight, the attitude we got when we asked to put two table together so we could sit together was ridiculous, every time! It wasn't busy either, not offered coffee,they were so miserable and rude, especially in the Las Olas buffett. I did speak the the TUI rep and we got given $75 dollars each to spend in the gift shop, nice gesture TBH but not the point. manners and a smile cost nothing and this really did impact our experience. this was throughout the hotel. Pool bar staff, reception also.

    very bad experience; not going to Bahia resorts on any of the locations. Never had this kind of experience in any other

    Worn out mattresses, AC not working, no wi-fi in the hallways, no smile at the faces on the servers at lobby bar, pathetic service while addressing the issues. Wasted our one whole day in changing the room. Looks like the rooms in building 24 has more issues; building 25 is newer built and bathrooms look more clean and not dated.

    You Get What You Pay For Here!

    Resort is beautifully made. Rrequest a room in bldg 25, which has the best view of the resort, preferably floor 5 or 6, floor 7 has 20in TV's in them! The food and drinks were 2/5, I feel very cheated. The fruit was never sweet and savory, the fruit in the drinks were not edible (yuk!) the juices are concentrated and tasted like they were stretched for the entire week, none of the food tasted like it should. The drinks were made with cheap alcohol. Some would claim to have run out of drinks to avoid going up a few steps to get the blender to make it. I blame management for not providing the equipment to help do their jobs. The women cleaning staff were very angry, rude and mean all over the resort. Our room had hair on the sheets as well as in the tub and the floor made the white slippers they provide black on the bottom. We requested the tub be cleaned but what appeared to be pubic hair or other hair still remained around the rim of the tub. Stained pillow cases were left on our bed when room was serviced. House keeping just left the towels and wash clothes in the bathroom along side the tub vs placing them on racks. Pool closed at 6pm! very disappointed. Very small beach area with no room to play ( throw frisbee or ect...) other sanded area was rocky so not good to be barefooted. The Chefs were not real chefs, they didn't even know what vegans eat. One chef suggested chicken, while another suggested fish. One waiter at the Mikado Restaurant was rude, walked off in middle of question then another time in middle of taking order because, "He already said that". It took us 3hrs to finish being served our entire meal at this place! The fried rice was yes, just brown rice! Most of the women workers had very bad attitudes with you. Most of the men workers were great, except the men in the buffet who you'd asks for something and they never come back with it (mutiple times). The DJs at eh pool was awesome, although they played more American music vs. Caribbean music ( I want to feel like I'm in Jamaica, not just at a pool). The rest of the entertainment was just ok because we had to listen and watch them perform the same skits and dances everyday. They deactivated our wrist bands 30mins prior to check-out! So all in all you get what you pay for at this Resort. I give them an overall score of 3/5.
