Floors extremely dangerous & NOT 5 star luxury
Not 5 star luxury. We paid extra for ocean view & were put in 2nd floor room with view of palm trees & couldn't see the ocean. When I phoned front desk they said there were no other rooms. I paid extra for ocean view & could not see ocean, so expected refund for the extra fee. The front desk said I'd have to take it up with Air Canada. **It had not rained on day of our check in, but some hallways were dangerously slippery. We returned to the lobby & were told a room on 4th floor would be available. We waited in lobby for the other room & couldn't access our luggage because it was out for delivery. I felt ill waiting, I was so disappointed. On the 1st day after a swim we were locked out or our room & waited for over an hour in the hall for security to let us in. Then we were locked out 2nd time another day & waited again for over an hour for security where they changed whole lock mechanism on door. Waiting the hallway not close to a bathroom for an hour soaking wet is terrible. They said we had a butler, but we never met her other than she was in our room when we were at dinner & spread flower petals/left a note. The food wasn't great. Not 5 star food for sure. It was not worth the money we paid. Our room was nice, but some fellow travellers told us their bed was really bad and some hallways were disgusting looking. I didn't get any good Jamaican food either. We won't go back to this resort. It's too much money for a 3 to 4 star experience. I can't express how dangerous the floors are. Keep rubbery shoes on at all times every where you go. We even wore socks in our room because it was so slippery.

Girls trip
We had a great time and plan to go back next year. The place is beautiful, great beach ,great food. People are very friendly, only had a couple that might have been having a bad day. Only complaints where making dinner reservations for 6 and the area's that are carpeted need up dated.

2 star hotel at best not luxury
This claims to be a luxury hotel with butler service. It is not . Issues started the week before check in, we had been trying for a week to select a room but the website and the app have not worked this entire time. As a result we ended up with a very loud room with a horrible view on the main floor. When we asked upon check about the possibility of switching to another room location and they refused to give us the location after asking multiple times. After a bout 4 days we realized we haven’t received butler service, not once. The only person who has been remotely helpful was the porters who connected us with a taxi driver to get us off the resort. The drinks were extremely weak so we needed up purchasing alcohol off site. Something is up with this bc after 4 drinks in a yeti you would think there would be some effect…none. The restaurant and food on site is a 2 at best and that’s mainly bc they make fresh eggs for breakfast..due to the poor quality of the food we ended up leaving the resort almost every day to find food…which brings me to my next point. We called the butler to help us reheat the food and they told us no and we would need to order room service (which has a limited menu of about 5 items) or go to a buffet and heat our food up ourselves…so again I ask what is the point of the butler service? They never restocked our bar and never showed up. I I’ve stayed at iberostar and though this would be similar…it is no where near. I won’t get started on the property bc it’s in desperate need of repair and in pretty bad shape. If you’re looking for a true luxury exp DO NOT stay here. I highly suggest RIU or iberostar.

It will be what you make of it - Read reviews - they are accurate
First time in Jamaica and first time at a Bahia Principe Luxury (stayed at Runaway bay) Good things: -the Entertainment team was great. “Tom Cruise” and team are the best! We love love Tom Cruise!!!! -Daven Ingram – Butler – went above and beyond to help us get into the Knife after trying for 4 days on our own to get a reservation. This man did what everyone else failed to do and he wasn’t even our Butler!!! Thank you Thank you! -golf carts available to drive us around were great and drivers were alot of fun -The bar staff was very hit or miss. Drinks were a hit or miss depending on who made it and at what bar. Not so good things: -The restaurants… - No one in our group (4) could log into the app before arriving – this was on someone else’s review and it happened to us as well. We couldn’t book any reservations. -When we arrived and our “butler” went to look there were NO openings. Depending on which staff member you talked to you, you got a different story. We turned this into a game by the end of the stay as the stories were never the same. -We did finally get to use 3 of our 7 ala cartes… that’s it. You shouldn’t have to hunt down reservations and bribe the staff to help. We did have to show up at the a la carte restaurant with money in hand hoping and begging to get a table. The restaurants were at 50% and at no time when we walked by were they ever at 100% - I think there are staffing issues that prevent them from filling restaurant or maybe they want everyone to use the buffets. -After daily trips to the lobby to check in on reservations for dinner, we were told on day 4 that the Don Pablo was closed – so that was not even an option for a dinner and that Luxury guests do not get priority – they get 30% of seatings and majority of availability is held for Bahia Grand guests, that is why we CANNOT BOOK using the app for dinners. They control the seatings??? -Takara – meh – was served a pork and pineapple stir fry with raw meat – they were really quick to rectify the situation and followed up with me the next day but we did not even want to go to this a la carte, but it was the only one they could seat us at. -Dolce Vita – ok…not much else to say -Picasso’s menu didn’t interest us at all – and I think it goes for everyone, this is the only one they could get us into but we declined it and never tried it because of the menu options. -The Knife – thanks to Daven we were able to get a seating and it was good. Small portions but good. We tried on our last night to get it on our own and succeeded mainly because we didn’t take no for an answer and our experience was very different. It took over an 1 hour to get our main course after our appetizer. My dinner roll was damp and had a moldy bottom. 2 different nights, 2 totally different experiences, same restaurant. Rooms: we stayed on the luxury side in room 26502, it was near a service room, elevators and you could hear a lot of what was going on in the hallway. The worst part was the view, we looked out onto their dirt parking lot and a dilapidated vacant building. Room was cleaned daily, water was replenished but the beer was not, even when we asked for a couple extra cans, it was hard to come by. -There seems to be an issue with the elevators. Staff were using guest elevators with carts of dirty dishes, or carts filled with other stuff…so we were often in an elevator with dirty dishes. Sometimes the elevator just didn’t come or the elevators were not working, such as the day we arrived, we had to use a staff elevator to get to our room. Grounds: beautifully kept, pool clean but towards afternoon, it needed to be strained, we called the pool guy over a couple of time to get his net. Buildings, however need a huge upgrade and TLC. Beach: I forgot to even check on this prior to going to this resort. On the Luxury side, it is a man-made area, with a break wall to prevent waves crashing in. It is small and you don’t get to ocean vibe. Because it is down a set of stairs, you don’t get the service for refreshments, you need to walk upstairs and to the beach bar to get service. Overall vibe: We love the action at the pool, everyone is welcome to have a great time….. but remember your good time should not hinder someone else’s….. watch out for older ladies grps, loud when drunk. Also had many annoying female only grps celebrating birthdays and they were rowdy, loud, obnoxious, barely dressed and not in a good way. They tried to dance on the stools in front of the bar, they tried to get on the bar to dance, just totally annoying. The Entertainment team always put on a great show. The guest interaction portions were always funny. The Entertainment crew goes above and beyond but when it comes to the serious things, it doesn’t come across that management is listening to the guests. We had a great time but we won’t be back. I agree with all the reviews that say that overall all this is not a luxury resort and be very wary if that is what you are used to and expecting. You will have fun if you want to and you may have a terrible time if you cannot overlook the a la carte bookings, state of building and the fact that it is not a luxury resort.

Privilege Club
The food was poor always cold. Staff are not crossed trained so they couldn’t help you. Their privilege club is an absolute scam, they are nice when they want to sell it, they don’t give you all the details and they don’t respond to emails
