Great for family, good restaurants, however if you’re a member they don’t treat you as other companies treat their mmemb
Great resort, good food, good entertainment team, good bars. Great newly renovated rooms. A lot of stuff to do for kids and great shows every night. A little far from the airport, however we get a free transportation for being members. Britches resort 10 times.

Frustrated
Second trip to Bahia akumal, we came in 2021 everything was great. We came back for my daughter’s birthdays. We were unable to book reservations ahead of time, we called and they told us they would book us dinners when we got here. We’ve been here three days no reservations. The only way to get a dinner for my daughters birthdays are to buy a 150$ bottle of wine. We don’t drink wine but have to pay it to get into a restaurant. Seems like quite a scam pay for upgraded rooms pay for all inclusive then have to pay for dinner. The concierge is no help they said watch the web site if someone cancels and the restaurants are half empty. We went to restaurants to see if we can get in no dice. Open tables but we couldn’t get in not sure what the deal is I’m disappointed I will not be coming back. We came with another family, we raved about the service to them here we were wrong. I guess we’ll have to make it up to them no more Bahía for any of us.

Family Trip- amazing food, amazing excursions, beautiful resort
We stayed in the swim-up rooms at Akumal with our two daughters (11 & 13). We found all the pools to be very warm by the afternoon, so we would start our days there. Our favorite “fun” pool was Tulum - we played beach volleyball and water polo. In the afternoons, we would go to the Coba/Akumal beach and it was beautiful. It was calm and there were so many fish. Akumal was the best choice for the buffet with a lot of options! The other locations had good choices too- just Akumal seemed to have more options. We saw so much wildlife! Coatimundi, pacas, agoutis, a ton of iguanas, hermit crabs and other large crabs, raccoons- all at the resort! We did a whale shark excursion and saw about 30 sea turtles, dolphins and a whale shark! The restaurants were all 5 star! So many exciting things to try and all at least a 3 or 4 course meal. There were some additional options for purchase, which we also did. Our favorites were: Don Pablo’s with “Mr. G.” He hustled the entire time, cooked the tomahawk steak at our table, never let our drinks get empty and all while having a great attitude! The tomahawk steak came with a complimentary strawberry dessert that he also cooked at our table- it was beautiful and amazing! Our other top favorite was Tortuga- the Brazilian steak house. Our waiter there was Francisco and he was also amazing! Great attitude, funny, made us feel like we were the only ones there! He also hustles the entire time and just overall amazing. In summary- book the trip!

Family Trip with Few Reservations for Dinner
Despite the great effort and friendliness of the staff members, the resort was disappointing due to the layout and the meal reservation system. We were led to believe we could make reservations for five meals (yes, the fine print says if available) but we could make very few reservations and none for our family. We had to eat at the buffet which was poor in comparison to other all inclusive buffets we have experienced over the years. The sprawling rooms require a tram unless you have a lot of energy to walk many times a day, and then you have to dodge the trams and construction trucks. The workers smile and greet and try very hard to satisfy customers. The swim out pools are lovely, though smaller than some resorts. The value did not equal other resorts since the food options were so limited. Cleanliness- great! Service- great!
