    Family vacation

    I usually enjoy my stay at Bahia but this trip I was disappointed . I went with my mom and my sons. One day we leave the hotel to visit family and my son forgot his wallet in his room. When we returned to the hotel the son got alert from his bank that fraudulent charges were made on his card. One of the hotel staff apparently stole my son’s card information and used it . He reported it security, they have him wrote a statement and told him to report it to the local police department . They also told him they would follow up about the investigation . No one followed up and it’s ridiculous they would even suggest he reported it to the local police department when he is not even a resident of Jamaica . I felt the incident was handled very poorly. Secondly , the shower in my oldest son room was not working properly it flooded water on the floor . He reported it and no one came to fix it . Other than those two issues our stay was great.

    Jamaica never fails to amaze !!! Thank you Bahia Principe Luxury

    Everything was great - weather not so good - but obviously cant control that - but having said that the entertainment team had that in hand with board games coming out etc in the lobby. Just a little nag - music DJ by the pool probably needs to tone down the hard core reggae - that's what I came for, love it - but guests moaning about it by swim up bar etc and maybe bit of, I don't know maybe Burno Mars and RnB which is known. Just an observation ! Shows OK but then you had to be with the guest with children ??? haha!!! just my opinion !!! Very clean, food excellent - could not always get the restaurant bookings we wanted but the buffet was OK with a great choice. Great time away in Jamaica, a place I have been many many times now and never fails to disappoint (although watch our for absolute chaos at the airport when you arrive ) Be visiting again for sure

    Roach problem and Old rooms

    The couple I was with were previledge members and they advised that they will not be renewing once it expires as it is not worth it. As soon as you walk in they are trying to get you to sit down with them to sell you the priveledge mebership. Give people a minute to put their bags down etc. When you check in there should be a list of events happening at the hotel so you know what is going on ahead of time. My friends had a updated room, floors, bathroom etc. Our room was just old and dingy. I hated having to go back to it at the end of the night. I went to the front desk and asked if they had updated rooms and was told there was an additional fee. The hotel has a roach problem and not the big island roaches that are expected the small german roaches. I was given towels by house keeping and there was a roach on it. I was so disgusting and didnt want to use any of the towels at the resort. That towel came directly from the storage area. There was a roach on the counter by one of the food stations during breakfast and we saw another roach on the bar at the sportsbar which made another guest scream. The tub in our room was old and dirty so we didnt use that. There was no hand soap or lotion in the room. Walking in my room barefoot my feet were so dirty after that I needed to always put on shoes in there. My room was very old and outdated. I asked for towels from the front deck at 8 am and went back around 6pm because I still had no towels. Instead of the front desk rep saying I apologize for the inconvience I was asked was the do not distrub on the door which it wasnt. That was when I was handed my towels there was a roach on it. The staff also needs to be friendlier. I would of never known they had better rooms than mine without seeing my friends room since there is no mention of it on your website with photos. In conclusion I will not be staying here again. The property looks beautiful but once you go back to your room its not worth it or see the roaches. The staff clearly knows how to ignore them. But what can they do about it.

    Ok but could be so much better

    May 8-15 1. Check-in was okay but slow. 2. Room was dated. Safe didn’t work and it took security 2 hours to come up to room to fix- with a screwdriver!!!!! Even after repair, certain numbers in our combination wouldn’t light up and so we had to get security to come again. You need to bring the safes up to the 21st century, Bahia. Seriously. Room was not the coolest even at lowest AC setting and with fan on max. Again, it could be that you’re better off on the Luxury side as it was only built five years ago. Maybe AC better there. It was hot everywhere on the Grand side. The AC never felt like it was doing its job. 3. Time share harassment This was truly a low point for our trip. The lady, Kerry Ann, asked if we wanted to see the Luxury side. We would be given a tour, then a 90 minute presentation about it and for our time we would be given an $80 voucher for the gift shop. This was a tour of the Luxury side, but it became a sales pitch for a time share, and it wasted 3.5 hours of our vacation. The manager did not want to take no for an answer. Extremely annoying. Do not…I repeat…do not sign up for this. It’s like you are trapped in an unending cycle that feels like you’re being sold a lemon used car. Funny part….the front desk woke us up at 8:00am so as not to miss this (the person actually said it would be a shame for Kerry Ann not to get her commission…) but when I asked for a 6:30am wake up so as not to miss my shuttle to the airport, no one bothered to call me. Front desk, do better. 4. Towels You have to secure your seats at pool and beach, and if you don’t, you won’t have anywhere to sit. Annoying, but that seems to happen at all the resorts. And people go off for hours and leave their stuff behind. With the time share debacle, we lost our towels because we saved our seats at the pool, not thinking we would be held hostage for 3.5h, and someone stole the towels, and our seats. 5. No plates Twice at Jerk Hut by Round Island we had no plates. Kitchen staff, avoid bottle necking of guests by ensuring plates and glasses and cutlery are constantly replenished. My husband went to the main buffet to get our own plates because we got tired of waiting for staff to do their job. 6. Buffet Food was good but some variety would be great. It was the same every day. They had fresh fish for cooking, fresh red meat for cooking, and a carving station all adjacent to each other and the management only has one person manning all of these things. At dinner that is unacceptable and an obvious attempt at reducing wage hours. I felt sorry for the cook who had to do that job. 7. Beach By nude beach it is beautiful 8. A la carte Dolce Vita stunk. Server was miserable and food was so bad. The Knife was good and so was the Teppenyaki. Lots of fun. Overall we enjoyed our trip and I would still recommend, but I think a lot of room for improvement. I put four stars but really would give 3.5 if I could. Read less

    Bahia Principe - No Regrets EVER!!!!!!

    First off I would like to respond to a review by Ivan M ( apparently to ashamed to put last name) reviewed 5/13/24 I was there while you were there ! So I can only respond to your review by saying how you conduct yourself and treat people is like a mirror. Now to a real review. We were there from May 9 - 16 and it was not disappointing as all Bahia Principe are. The people workers , locals and all guests were very warm and inviting. The entertainment was spectacular and always fun. We met so many people from everywhere around the world had conversations with as many as I could lol as a good friend told me I should have a hourglass to time my talking :) . I have many allergies including all berries , meats, sugars, dairy , mushrooms and many others as well as having heart related restrictions the management made sure all my meals were made according to my restrictions name a hotel chain that does that so big shout out to Mauro and Chef Franco who made sure I ate yay!!!!!! Also shout out to Antonio ( happy face) ,Sajid, Victor, Jennifer, Tiffany, Chef Samuels and so many more who were so welcoming and basically made the vacation so enjoyable. Have been to many Bahia resorts and if your looking for one to guarantee having the best vacation of your life go to any of them they will never disappoint!!!!!!!!!!
