Fantasia punta cana
We stayed in the more family friendly hotel which wasn't too busy with children but had good entertainment that we enjoyed.the staff were friendly and helpful although some of them struggled with English the others tried to help us with some Spanish

Family friendly
The hotel overall is nice, everyone is very nice and helpful. My only issue was the food from the buffet, sometimes it was very plain or you can see flies around it which it was very disappointing. My suggestion is to go to à la carte restaurants. My kids also got Hand, foot, and mouth disease from the pool and they will charge you outrageous prices for a medicine at a pharmacy that they won’t charge a local.

Great vacation with children
We visited this hotel from September 24 to 30th, 2024. We were a big group of family of 23 people with children ranging from 3 months to 13 years old. First of all, this time of year to visit is great as it isn’t fully booked, therefore lots of chairs available and not over crowded restaurants, amenities like the water parks. The room was spacious and cleaned. I also liked the fact that the bathroom had separate restroom door and shower, made it practical. The room isn’t modern, or “au goût du jour” , however for me the most important was that it was kept clean and functional and AC worked great. The only thing is our bath jet/bubble wasn’t working but it didn’t matter for us, we just needed to bath the children after a long day outside! Also they give plenty of water everyday along with other little soda’s juice and beers in the mini fridge. You can also request room service for food 24/7 and it’s come whiten a maximum of 45 min. This hotel is big specially considering the fact that you can visit the other hotels of grand Bahia around, but we stayed mostly in ours for the children as the activities were there. We only visited the other hotels for the restaurants a la carte. We had great service ; our room lady at room 99253 was awesome, Santo at the dining was great, Francia the snack bar and many more people that I unfortunately forgot all their names but we loved the staff. The beach is really nice and clean, nice white sand and not too hot, a lot of tiki space which helps for some shades and loved the pathway along the way down the beach so you can have easy access to bring stroller or wheelchairs. The food and drinks are good , nothing spectacular but good considering it’s a family hotel and not a 5* fancy/ or adults only resort. You always can find lots of options at the main buffet. The beer is “Presidente “ or Presidente light. The house wine was actually good , I was surprised as I always purchase bottles as I like a nice glass of wine for diner, and I was able to drink their red (semi sec) and white wine ( similar to Sauvignon blanc) and didn’t taste the pink as it’s sweet, the champagne for mimosa was also good. There is entertainment from animation team for children and adults. Everyone can find a space or place that they like better — either calm without music ; or music or quiet like on the beach. There’s also yes some bees in the day because of all the sweet of the drinks and kids ice cream and what not. Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do about it but put something on top of your drink or give it to the staff once done if they don’t pass right away to pick it up to avoid staying around you. There is also mosquitos at night, remember you are in the Caribbean, it’s humid, so naturally insects are more around— bring bug spray. It’s not impossible to be out, it’s just can be uncomfortable for some people , but again I didn’t let this ruin my vacation or have a bad opinion of the hotel. There’s pathway everywhere for wheelchair or strollers. However, there is no elevators and there is 3 stories, so either request a room at ground level if you have hard time walking or wouldn’t be able to lift your stroller. Bring the light stroller umbrella one if not ;) Anyways, this is pretty much the summary of my review, overall we all liked this hotel and staff. You can also download the application for this hotel and see what’s going on everyday and make reservations through there. We would recommend this hotel to families with children!

Overall a pretty good resort
Hotel was generally great with loads of space around the pool, room was nice with good views, a wide selections of food options, staff were friendly and there was always loads of activities. Only negatives are I become unwell believed due to food (due to questionable taste of an item and symptoms) and not saying it’s related but many of the cups and plates often looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly, life guards around the pool had next to nil focus on the pool, so don’t assume they are watching, some areas like outdoor stairs need a bit of a refurbishment with lights hanging off the steps, there was some loud refurbishment work taking place which it would have been nice to know about and the evening shows are a bit repetitive

Save your money
Don't bother. Save your money. The worst hotel so far! Especially with a toddler Cons: Staff are unhelpful and rather lazy If you don't speak Spanish, make Google translate your best friend. Staff barely speak Spanish so your questions will either be answered with a nod, or incorrectly Rooms are awful. We bizarrely got given two single beds ( great if you don't fancy being near your partner) but not ideally for those with kids. The shower was cold and falling apart, our toilet smelt like sewer and AC was pretty much the ceiling fan! Our bell boy was kind enough to let us bring our bags up the STAIRS ourselves. Clearly thought we needed it after a long flight. There are no lifts either, so if you aren't on the ground floor- good luck! Food was awful. As vegetarians, there wasn't much to chose from. Chips or stale bread really. Translations are so difficult we accidentally got given meat being told it was vegetarian. It then lead to my toddler being struck down with food poisoning which received no sympathy from staff. Food isn't fresh. Flies hover around the fruit, and items tend to run out fast. Kids often enjoy poking their fingers around in dishes too without being told off. Buffet menu isn't very creative either. Usually the same meals all day, everyday. Everything is artificial. Unnecessary food colouring added, or extreme levels of sugar for sweet dishes. The drinks are diluted down too. Cereal selection consists of American processed brands, so bring your own if you want your kid to enjoy their morning crunch. Tried to book a spa- got told its extra if they use oil. Sorry, what? Wonder how much it is for a dry massage? Hmm Entertainment is average. Pros Pools are a great temperature It's nice to have access to the surrounding hotels Beach is nice In summary, don't bother. We went to the Tenerife Hotel and loved it so based this next trip off that. There is no comparison. Excursions are also massively overpriced. Regrettably wouldn't come back. We booked via Tui and didn't see a rep once! All in all, waste of a lot of money!
