The ackee, a fruit that is cooked and used primarily as a vegetable, is the national fruit of Jamaica, and plays a major role in the preparation of the country’s national dish: ackee and saltfish.

WORST EVER - STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT
This is the by far the Worst Hotel Ive ever stayed at for the $$$$ spent. zero value for the money. Very tired, Multiple issues with the room , Lack of Restaurants available. Horrible menu options for room service. Whatever they advertise they had 1 night out of 7 that had 3 open. supposed to be 7 I think.. Adult swimup bar in Adults only not open once in a week? Top it all of off we had NO water for last day. Never went to eat dinner as we were told 3 different times it was fixed..Complete waste of money. I have stayed all over Jamaica, other Caribean Islands. travel a min of twice a year. Honestly not alot of goods things to say. I feel for the staff as its very hard to provide a decent stay for guests with limited resources. Over the week NOT 1 upper management person came to speak to us. I could go on and on about issues Showers with mold in Both of bathrooms, Mold so bad on windows you couldnt see out of them. Paid for a Room ocean front with big balcany. Couldnt sit on Furniture as it was falling apart..lol..crazy to me. You wouldnt take this furniture for Free if it was put at a curb..So sad to experience this type of Vacation.. STAY AWAY FROM THE RESORT!!! Over 7 Kspent with flights out the window as far as Im concerned..anyways Beach area is beautiful , People are beautiful. Try another spot.

Just returned from Azul negril Before I continue I would just like to say we visited 7 yrs ago and it was so lovely, so thought we’d visit again. Big mistake Good points…. Stayed in premium swim up room which was lovely, large, clean and comfortable, daily maid service. Beach and sea just as lovely as 7 yrs ago Beach furniture seen better days but always got a sun bed, probably due to hotel only been a third full ( not surprising really if previous reviews are been read) Not enough beach parasols so had to get shade under trees on the beach. Serving staff delightful, so happy and caring. Now negatives….. Noise, where… everywhere, couldn’t get any peace and quiet anywhere Noise from the “entertainment”pool travelled to the beach and sea all over the resort, never heard anything as loud, and only a handful of people in the pool!!!! Then the entertainment team started on the beach, shouting so loud on a microphone, very few people got involved, probably due to the infantile games, eg, flip flop throwing🤷♀️ On to the food, the resort has several restaurants, 2 buffet, Italian, Asian , one called Ackee. No booking required Well, only the mahogany buffet open daily, the Palms buffet never opened There was only one of the specialtiy restaurant open per night , consequently everyone headed there, so never got in one. So the Mahogany it was for every meal every day!!! Plus it’s an indoor restaurant, so didn’t really feel like I was on holiday in the Caribbean. The food in there was varied but honestly the “warm” food was cold every day, didn’t eat a warm meal for the entire stay. Got food poisoning on my last day, not a pleasant experience on my 9 hr flight home. Had to ask for salt at every meal because they don’t put it on the tables. Spoke to the food & beverage manager, Manwell re closed restaurants and cold food, he was rude and dismissive. Overall a very expensive mistake, really disappointing, absolutely do not recommend this resort.

AZUL Resort
Dear TripAdvisor Team, I wanted to take a moment to recognize the exceptional service I received during my recent stay in Negril, Jamaica, especially at Azul Resort- Jordane, my concierge, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect—he was incredibly professional, accommodating, and genuinely made me and my husband feel special. Vanessa from room service also stood out with her warm, attentive care. Every interaction felt personal, and she made us feel like more than just guests. The entire waitstaff at Mahogany deserves praise as well. From the moment we arrived, they were friendly, professional, and attentive to every detail, making our dining experiences feel both luxurious and comfortable. Thanks to their efforts, our stay was not only relaxing but truly memorable. I felt safe, cared for, and valued as a guest. I hope they all receive the recognition they deserve. Not a 5 star resort
Long review: We just came back from staying at Azul Beach Resort. The reviews are definitely on point. I wish we read more of them before we booked. The check in i believe was the worst ever. We booked a premium Ocean view suite but when we confirmed with check in that it's ocean view she said partially. I stated i wanted to see the room even if not ready cause we wanted what we booked and paid for. The room is not a separate bedroom as advertised and it was a partial ocean and i was looking directly at another guest balcony. What made this process worse was the bell guy he was loud, mocking and took what we were frustrated about the room and booking personal. He was talking to his colleagues in patois about me and didn't think i understood him and when i called him out on it he was defensive. What actually turned this trip around was Customer service team Petrina and Janay they were very kind, professional and really extended their self to turn our experience around especially since we came to this resort to celebrate my birthday. Following up on getting us towels, my birthday dinner and just checking up on us was really appreciated and we thank you. The hotel needs to be upgraded the grounds were pretty, food was okay didn't like the Asian cuisine and they didn't have any ice cream as they kept saying machine was down. We did the spa that was amazing and relaxing. I enjoyed the entertainment the 2 nights i was there. We did a beach dinner and the food we ordered from the platinum menu was not available and we were not told until last minute. Overall my family and i made the best of our trip. We are told they are to do some renovations and i hope so cause it does need upgrading especially if advertising 5 star.

Very disappointing
Do not stay here, this resort has terrible food, the staff is very biased towards black/Jamaican guests and the food is very underwhelming and lacking flavor. This was a complete waste of money. They don’t deserve 5 stars at all, save yourself the trouble and choose another resort if you are looking for a good experience.
