Location was good, no elevator so lugging large suitcases upstairs with no offer of assistance: especially after asking for ground floor for disability VERY DISAPPOINTING. Issues with reservation and pricing not resolved

    Best view

I stayed in Kauai bldg room 230 had the best view. When I have to fly outer island I look forward to a good place to stay. I most definitely had the best view of the sunrise I stayed in Kauai Bldg. Rm 230 unforgettable.

    Paradise on a Beach...Kauai Style!

We stayed four nights at Islander on the Beach and loved every minute of it. The amenities alone are worth the stay. Less than 100 yards to the beach. Excellent shops/eateries within walking distance. Lots of ocean beach to explore and play in. Sunrise views. We never used the pool or hot tub, but enjoyed the Happy Hour time. I'm not a drinker but loved their pina coladas. The Lava Lava Beach Club next door is a great place to eat and view the ocean (if weather cooperates). And don't miss the sunsets! We walked to the Sheraton next door for a great view of the cove and sunset over mountains. The room was excellent. And yes you will have sand on your floor (although they tell you to remove your shoes upon entry). We put a towel down to wipe our feet and then showered (bathroom just inside door) before entering the living space to keep sand mostly to the entry. But its a beach hotel and sand is part of the deal. We didn't watch much TV, but did view a free movie available through the front desk kiosk. If you're coming from the mainland, get ready for sticker shock ($7/gallon of milk). There is a small fridge in room. We brought our own snacks and breakfast (non-refrigerated) items, saving $$$. The parking can be a problem, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming in for the night and the restaurants are hopping. Hint: don't rent a big vehicle and expect to get two parking spots. Also the Internet is terrible. I finally gave up and used my own personal wi-fi (cellphone hot spot). Overall, it was still a great stay and we're definitely going back to Islander on the Beach! You have to love an island that provides real rooster alarm clocks.

    Not the place to stay

A terrible experience, room was dirty (bathtub not clean and no safety bar), towels unavailable 2 days, no amenities and very unsterile process to clean dishes!! Our sheets were changed after 4 days but that was all that was done! The staff was friendly..management was NOT! They overcharged at checkout and when i got home I called them, they said it was trouble with the computer??!! How many people did not catch mistakes? I would never stay there again!!

We were impressed with the resort. It was clean, tidy and extremely well maintained. Beautiful and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome and appreciated. True aloha spirit.
