Far below typical Andaz standards.
Overall below the standards you’d expect from an Andaz. Property is amazing, being run by staff that either doesn’t care or is far understaffed. As other reviews state the room was not available till hours after posted check-in. Staff offered no reasons or apologies. Told us to go eat at the restaurant, at 4pm, what we expected was a room at check-in time. Towels, the never ending towel game. Pool rarely had towels, the room was never stocked with an appropriate number. When we checked in the room had 2 towels, total. 2 bath towels, nothing else. Zero attention to detail. Maid would come to the room and REMOVE clean towels. The pool chairs and seating was all removed for 36 hours, literally zero chats at the lagoon pool. Told it was for a private event that never happened. Front desk was being very dishonest with us. Best we can tell, when rain is in the forecast they remove all the chairs. Craziest thing I’ve ever experienced at a resort. Service was slow and inconsistent. Likely understaffed, I sympathize with the staff that was working hard, but it will be at the expense of the guest still paying full price. Drinks would arrive at the table with melted ice and food cold. The hostess at casa Amate was a special type of rude. Just say you’d better have a reservation or you’ll be hunting down dinner elsewhere. Thanks to her for sending our son away hungry. Overall, take your money elsewhere. This isn’t up to typical Andaz standards. Also Don’t expect this hotel to give a flip about any Hyatt loyalty.

Very relaxing
I really don’t understand the terrible reviews of this place. We stayed in the lagoon side near the lobby. Big spacious rooms. The staff filled the snacks and drinks daily. You can do a cenote tour for free and there is a boat ride for free also. This was a very peaceful relaxing hotel for rest and relaxing. The staff was excellent The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the pool really needs to be heated. Its cool in January and no one was getting in the beach nor the pool. If you are looking for an all inclusive all you can drink experience this is not for you.

Underwhelming and Overpriced.
Very underwhelming from service to facility maintenance to food options. Also, very overpriced. I recommend staying at the TRS Yucatan if you want a similar "jungle/lagoon" experience but want better service and more food options thats all inclusive

Great family friendly resort option
Visited the Andaz Mayakoba property for the first time and enjoyed our experience. Overall good food options (we did the all inclusive package) and wonderful service. We upgraded from Lagoon View to Beach area and did not regret it due to the size of the property. We ended up spending almost all of our time near the beach pool and the actual beach. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and it was evident that the rooms are slightly outdated and need some renovating to keep up with the 5 star classification (cracking walls in the washroom/shower, leaking fridge, etc).

An unbelievably beautiful resort with a beyond helpful staff.
We loved our stay at the Andaz. This was one of our favorite family vacations. The grounds somehow combine both the elements of a rain forest and a beach resort; we loved the natural beauty. The staff on property is so courteous and friendly. There are too many names to mention, but I can single out Jamie who drives one of the red golf carts, as well as Omar and Jimenia at the Beach Pool. Also, all of our servers at Cocina Milagro were fantastic. I highly recommend a stay at the Andaz!
