    Not recommended. Subpar experience.

Poor experience. We did this as part of a timeshare presentation. Were given the worst rooms in the complex. We had to change rooms twice due to dirt, AC not working, smell and no screen. All the rooms offered were on the ground floor with little privacy and parking lot views. How Sheraton expects to sell time shares after such an unpleasant experience beats me. Nice beach next to hotel. Pool pretty but overcrowded with not enough chairs. Food very expensive and generally not good. This used to be a special place. Not recommended. There are many better places to stay on Kauai.

    Amazing stay at the Sheraton

We had a great stay at the hotel. We stayed in a villa which was awesome. Our pool was cold but the pool by the ocean was very nice. The Lava restaurant was very good. The grounds are beautiful. The beach is awesome but the ocean is rough so I didn’t go swimming.

    Some good, some meh

This resort was built in 1968 and rooms have been updated. There are some good things and some not so good. First, Sheraton is a Marriott property, so this has the soul of a hotel vs. a true resort. Self-parking is free but may not be available at peak times. There is a small market/cafe, a mid-range dining option/bar, and a high-end dining option. Rooms are large and beds are very comfortable. The oceanfront rooms are worth the view and the beach is decent by Hawaii standards (it’s not all lava rock, there’s enough sand for comfort). There are a few things that would improve the lodging experience, such as: -screen doors on the sliding doors. You pay for that oceanfront experience but have to keep your door closed to avoid bugs/critters -hooks in the bathroom, to hang up a robe or travel bag -reconfigure the showers. The large shelf in back siphons water directly onto the floor if the sprayer is raised to normal human height. Staff from the front desk to the eateries to housekeeping is unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned. It was a lovely location to spend a week, close to shopping and off-property restaurants. The concierge provides a discount card good at some local vendors. Might look at different lodging options for our next visit but this worked ok for us. I’d rate it as very good but not spectacular.

To call this a resort is stretching the imagination. If you are going to solicit me for a time share and have me fly half way across the Pacific and humiliate me with a Motel 6 room don’t. To top it off when asked to help book a room at another resort you tell me your not a travel agent just pours fuel on the fire. Then after turning in my room for 5 days after opening the door you offer nothing but to say read the terms and conditions is an insult. People beware this is not something you want to have happen to you after over 5 hours on a plane to something that could barely fit 2 hamsters in. This is one hell of a letdown and I will be taking this up with Bonvoy given the manager and concierge at about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. BEWARE BEFORE THEY HOOK YOU WITH THE TIMESHARE SOLICITATION. The garden room is a polite word for a dump. Pleased to say we got one of the last rooms available through my own Bonvoy app at the Westin Princeville , a real resort with real rooms and amenities.

    Best Place in Paradise!

This was our third stay at this property and the first two times we were fortunate to enjoy a breathtaking ocean view king room for a 2 week period. This time we stayed our first and last nights at the Resort because we had a condo that was just across the path from them. We love the location, the beautiful private beach with amazing sunsets but most of all we enjoy the staff and all the amenities that was offered. We had numerous meals at both RumFire and Lava's and especially enjoyed their happy hours. We received excellent service from everyone we met but especially Robin (who is retiring soon and deservedly so) and Benjie (best bartender ever!). A special thank you to the General Manager and his executive assistant Denise for arranging our accommodation. We will definitely be coming back to this wonderful Resort! Patty & Mike
