Quito

Two million people live in Ecuador’s capital city of Quito, the world’s highest capital city. Many beautiful colonial buildings remain in the central Old City district, with most tourist accommodations to the north. Its location in the Andean highlands make its weather unpredictable, but in good weather, it’s worth taking a cable car ride up the mountain to see the whole city from the sky.
