Crescent City
Crescent City, California, is named for the crescent shaped stretch of beach at the south end of the city. During low tide, visit Battery Point Lighthouse, one of the oldest on the California coast. Only a few miles south of the Oregon border, the city is the "Redwoods Gate to the Golden State" due to its proximity to the Redwood National and State Parks, home to almost half of the state’s remaining giant redwoods. After you marvel at these centuries-old trees, enjoy kayaking, horseback riding, or fishing for salmon and steelhead trout.
