Sadness just sadness
I gave this hotel a 1. If 0 was an option I would. The staff isn’t friendly at all. Not helpful in the least. Their goal is to get you here and that is the extent of their efforts. The view from the beach isn’t appealing. We get to look at boats blocking the view of the sunrise and set. The water is seaweed ridden. We could’ve saved $4000 and gone to Galveston,TX. The smell is horrendous. When we first got here…. Before we were aware of the things for mentioned…we wanted to extend our stay by 1 day. That took an act of congress and 3 staff and a manager. I mean the red flag was a wavin. I whole heartedly do NOT recommend this place to anyone…EVER

Riu Montego Bay best Riu resort in Montego Bay
The resort was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful. The entertainment had me on my toes. I enjoyed the food as well. The water park was way too much fun. I love the different slides to choose from and the other pools. The resort was super clean. I am ready to go back to the same resort.

Rui Montego Bay
The food was too salty in the buffet, porridge too much sugar and the only drink that a diabetic could have was either or diet Pepsi and no milk alternative available after breakfast. What about those that are intolerant to cows milk. Rice was undercooked and veg were not cooked enough. The Chinese restaurant wasn't Chinese the noodles just tasted like curried chicken! The staff were excellent and went above and beyond, very impressed with there service. Had a condensation issue on the walls in my room and housekeeping sorted it there and then, Very efficient. Rooms not quite Premiere Inn standard

5 star Rui hotel…. I think not.
We arrived on the 31 of august 2023. To say it was not what we expected in an understatement. Rooms on the second floor (No lifts) staff not the most friendly people I have come across. Food same old same old (So much for five stars) and the smell of people smoking weed all over the hotel absolutely disgusting even though staff were just walking by. Spent most of our two weeks in our room, when we could get into the room without jarring my shoulder, the door had dropped on one side and it too them three days to repair. Did offer to give us a change of room but we refused as we had already unpacked. The pool bar was for 18 too 30s with guests getting sick in the pool and no one doing anything about in, then people smoking weed around the pool. Could not wait to get on the plane back home. Would I visit again ? Absolutely not. Would I revisit a Rui branded hotel? Absolutely not.
