Great all inc hotel stay
Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! All of the staff were friendly, the hotel is spotless and very astehtically pleasing. My room (standard with balcony) was absolutely huge with double sinks and. Walk in shower. The Aircon in the rooms is pretty powerful and can get a bit much at night so you may wish to sleep in something long sleeved or have an extra blanket. In the daytime said Aircon is a god send because it is HOT in the daytime. The pool areas are all really nice and there are plenty of daytime activities to take part in, if your after chill vibes head to the beach as the pool areas are very lively. The buffet restaurant is nice, but food choices are repetitive, head to Pepe's in the afternoon for Jerk Chicken (be warned it's very popular so expect to queue). The restaurants on site are also nice but not fantastic. Overall I definitely recommend staying at this hotel as it has everything you could possibly need. I will for sure be returning.

Fun and relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The only thing that we didn’t like was the beach. Outside it was fine but in the water it’s very slimy. We only got on once.

An excellent RIU all-inclusive resort
The RIU Montego is a wonderful all-inclusive resort. The staff in all departments were wonderful. The resort’s location is convenient to shopping and it has a beautiful private beach. The nightly entertainment is varied and the entertainers are very talented. The buffet and restaurants were all delicious.

Back from the best holiday
Just returned from our 2 week holiday and honestly had the best time. Considering I’m 29 weeks pregnant I didn’t feel like I was unable to take part in the parties etc (obviously I was unable to drink but this wasn’t an issue) First of all the app is really handy and being able to book the restaurants/request maintenance etc through the app took away any stress. It means you don’t have to queue at the a la carte restaurants for when they open. You can book as many times in your holiday as you want. In terms of the buffet food, after seeing many negative reviews we found it to be really nice and always found something we enjoyed. Don’t get me wrong there were days we preferred the food over others but I find you would have this on a 2 week holiday. We did find that when the food ran out, the replenishing of food did take a while which was a little annoying. The dress code for the buffet was also questionable, my partner was not allowed to enter in a smart vest and shorts which is fine however there were many women wearing a lot less to dinner and they were allowed in. The queuing system for the buffet and Pepes was a little frustrating, especially at pepes were you could be queuing for over 30 mins in the boiling sun. The Jerk chicken was delicious but be prepared to wait. The al la carte restaurants were really enjoyable, especially to break up the buffet. We really enjoyed the Kulimarium and the Golden Dragon The hotel itself is extremely clean and well maintained. Rooms are really modern and well kept with comfy beds. The only annoying thing was having to constantly request bottles of water, when requested we did always receive but sometimes if we forgot it was a little frustrating that it wasn’t just stocked everyday. Most of the bar/restaurant staff were absolutely amazing, and work so hard. We did find a few members of staff to be really unhelpful and rude which was a shame because we found they would be fine with some people and not other. Special shout out to Amanda at the pool bar and Rhianne at the buffet who was always helpful and friendly. Although I was not drinking my partner found that the drinks quality was inconsistent with some drinks being way too strong or didn’t contain any alcohol whatsoever. Lastly, the entertainment staff were absolutely amazing and so was the evening shows. They are all so talented and work so hard in the boiling heat every day. They all make the effort to come and say hello have a chat with you. They are not pushy with the games etc which is nice when you don’t want to be involved but there is plenty going on, if like my partner you can’t sit still. Special shout-out to my absolute favs Tevoy, Delano, Bubbles, Mosquito and Sunshine we absolutely loved our holiday because of these guys. They always came over to ask how I am make sure I am okay and genuinely took the time to have meaningful conversations. The main negatives we found with this hotel were actually the inconsiderate guests who just seem to think they’re the only people on their holiday. Just one more thing, not that it’s the hotels fault but please be aware you are directly under a flight path so planes are constantly landing and taking off over the hotel. We didn’t find this an issue but I know some people may.
