Good bang for your buck
The hotel is wonderful. The resort was great, the rooms were fine I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Everyone was beyond 100%. Very friendly and very accommodating. I would write all the restaurants about a five out of 10. little disappointed in the food.

Wife's Birthday
We recently where at Riu Montego Bay, Jamaica. I took my wife for her birthday. One of the best Resorts we have stayed at . We have stayed at other Riu's before. Last year we were at the Ochos Rios location. This one in Montego bay is far superior. Everything from the grounds to the rooms, food, and staff were nothing but amazing. Even the Riu entertainment staff were the best set of people, full of energy and happy souls. We would highly recommend this Resort to anyone. We will definitely be returning to this location in the near future. 👍👍

Fun times
Travelled with TUI from UK. All good. Short transfer from airport to hotel, the consequence of which is that this hotel is on the flight path so avoid if that bothers you. Drinks on arrival. Front desk staff helpful as we asked to change rooms (only for logistics). No fuss made and no extra charge made. Rooms efficiently air conditioned and clean. Well stocked with drinks. Our rooms were very quiet with the occasional exception of late night revellers (which can happen anywhere.) Plenty of food choices in the buffet from Jamaican to sushi and lovely fresh fruit and salads. There is a choice of three hotels which is great as different generations are catered for. I enjoyed the chilled pools at the Riu Palace although there were pool activities available. Going for just one week we only fitted in one excursion to Rick’s Cafe which we enjoyed as it gave us a glimpse of outside. Because the area doesn’t lend itself to roaming around without being hassled we spent our time at the hotel. I don’t usually look for entertainment on holiday but in this situation where we were hotel bound, the entertainment squad was invaluable. From the time they arrived in the morning they provided high octane energy and enthusiasm and would keep this fun intensity right through into the evening without the levels dropping. Always something going on if you wanted to get involved. Thanks doc fun fun, starfire, Spider-Man, Spark in the Dark, short boss, bravo et al - you made it special. They are what sets this hotel apart - wouldn’t be the same without them. The friendliness of all the staff is very important when spending most of the time in the restaurants, pool side, on the beach or in the bars. Nothing too much trouble and always with a smile. Would definitely return.

Will definitely return
my stay was great me and my wife traveled for my birthday and had a good time. My only issue is the same that I have with all adults resorts the age should be higher then 18. RIU needs a 40 & up resort.

Very relaxing
The resort in itself overall was very nice. Several pools and bars. The entertainment troupe was awesome. They worked very hard to entertain all day with games and such and great shows in the evening. The sports bar was nice. The beach was great. There were a few locals trying to sell their wares (and gonja) on the beach, but they weren’t pushy.the water wasn’t as clear as I had hoped and the bottom was a grey clay that was sticky, but that’s not the resorts fault, just wear water shoes. The food was just ok. Steakhouse was the big disappointment, the steak was tough, it’s sad a cow died for it! There were placards on the buffets, telling what certain foods were, but it was 50/50 that they were right! I recommend downloading the RIU app. It was useful for requesting refills on the mini bar or room maintenance or housekeeping etc. They respond quickly. It also gives a schedule of events for the day and used for your dinner reservations and menus. The resort sits at the end of the runway of the airport and I thought the planes and noise would be an issue and it wasn’t. Was actually fun to watch them come and go and they stop before it’s late. The closeness to the airport actually makes it nice, since the commute to and from is quick. There is a small store on the property, but don’t fret about going to the shops across the street to the left. And it’s adults only!
