Enjoyed our stay
Overall enjoyed our stay. Preferred club was slightly confusing on what we were offered/given and the food was a 6/10 but customer service and the resort were a 10 out of 10! The pools could have been warmer and the hot tub was cold but we still enjoyed! The staff and location were great!
Can't wait for a return trip!
Wow! A perfect vacation! We had a room in the "Preferred Club" and one of the highlights of the trip was our butler, "Zorro". He took care of us so well. Made all our dinner reservations, checked in with us every day (popped up in the restaurant to make sure we were enjoying). Two surprises, chocolate covered strawberries in our room one night and the other shall remain a surprise if you are lucky enough to be assigned to Zorro! We ate at the steakhouse, the French restaurant and the Hibachi and had wonderful meals at all three. Breakfast was at the buffet while seated in the preferred diningroom. Excellent breakfast selections. My husband really enjoyed his custom omelet each morning. We had a swim out jr suite. I love to people watch and it was in a perfect spot for it. Even though there were many people at the resort, it never felt crowded. I could sit on my patio and watch people from a distance, then jump in my "moat" and swim to the pool. A waiter was never far away, delivering our tropical cocktails. Nightly entertainment was fun. High energy singing and dancing. We were there with adults but can't wait to go back with grandchildren! Something for everyone.
Avoid if you can!
The checkin experience was quite disappointing. After hours of air travel, we were received by the checkin desk without a smile, who seemed quite annoyed while checking us in. Didn't give enough information about anything and just handed us over to the bellboy. The worst part of the stay was the construction on the next property. Our room was directly facing it. The construction would go late into the night, was super loud and it felt like we didn't have any privacy while lounging in our swim up room. A warning about it and perhaps a temporary screen for the guests privacy would have been appreciated. The mobile app that was recommended to use for additional information was useless as we placed multiple requests for extra toiletries but we didn't get any and no one responded. Housekeeping completely missed our room the first day (even though we didn't have any privacy sign in front of the door) and we had to flag someone down in broken spanish to get them to clean our room. One of the days the actually cleaned it, they only left 2 bath towels out of the 3 that were originally there and took away all of the face/wash cloths! Also, they didn't use their judgement while refilling the toiletries. If the shower gel is running low, then they just need to replace it!! How hard would that have been? Honestly, the housekeeping staff just seems to be operating at their own will and doesn't meet the standard of a proper hotel, let alone an expensive Hyatt resort. The food at all restaurants is less than average. The options at the buffet are subpar and the quality and hygiene of it is questionable. We saw flies sitting on the food and after the dinner on the first night at the buffet restaurant, my husband got upset stomach and diarrhea! The only specialty restaurant that is good is the French one. The rest of them have average food. Not saying they need to accommodate all diets, but at least one vegetarian option should be on the mains menu for the restaurants - for kids, people who don't eat specific kind of meat, etc. The Mexican restaurant didn't have a single vegetarian option for mains. The serving size is wildly disproportionate. At the Italian restaurant, the lasagna was the size of a 2”x2” but the pesto pasta was 2 person portion. The 2 stars is for the only positive experience which was at the bars, cafe and pool! The bar staff whipped up excellent drinks and the entertainment staff kept the energy up which help numb an otherwise horrendous stay,
Amazing family vacation!
Our family was a group of 12, we upgraded to the preferred club and were so thankful we did! We had Darleni as our butler and she was amazing! Anything we needed, she got it done efficiently. It was a relief knowing all of our dining reservations were taken care of and we never had to wait for our table! If we needed something she got it taken care of quickly and efficiently. 10 out of 10 would recommend her, she was fabulous! We also loved Chocolate and Grey from the entertainment team! They got us dancing, playing darts and pool games, and we had a blast! The white beach party was our favorite, so much fun! Abrahan the pool waiter was amazing! He took the time to learn our names, our favorite drinks! We were sad to say goodbye to him! Top notch service and always so happy to be around! Our food experience was also very good! We loved the breakfast buffets, and tried all of the restaurants! We went to hibachi two times! Our chef, Alexander and server Maria were wonderful! They were great with our kids and encouraged them to help sing and cook! We had an amazing stay, our rooms were clean, mini fridge restocked daily, and we felt safe and had an amazing experience! Would recommend this resort to family and friends and hope to return again sometime!
