Sep 22, 2023Secrets was not up to the Hyatt Standard. Poor working condition of the room and lack of variety with restaurants
Poor working condition of the room. Shower would not maintain consistent temperature went from scalding hot to freezing without adjusting the lever. Lack of food selection. Once we arrived we were bombarded with request to purchase additional services like snorkeling, ATV's rides, etc.

Run down. Didn’t meet secrets standards. Understaffed. No entertainment.
- [ ] Over the last 10 years there doesn’t seem to be any maintenance and minimal upkeep - [ ] Many broken beach chairs that were never replaced - [ ] Pool tiles - many were broken and scattered across bottom of the pool - [ ] Pool dirty/ didn’t appear to be skimmed for leaves before the day - [ ] There wasn’t turn down service at all. During our stay at either resort. Dreams or secrets - [ ] No wash clothes after first day - [ ] In room restock of refrigerator was inconsistent - [ ] Major overhaul / remodel of the back property - - [ ] Not many places to eat Bordeaux, buffet or Oceanas - [ ] Few activities / no shows. Karaoke and volleyball is all we found - [ ] Seemed to be under staffed from prior visits. Long time in between drink service (if they showed at all. ) - [ ] Lots of areas where the paint is chipping / concrete chipped - [ ] Pool Towel service only lasted until noon. If you weren’t in the first wave your weren’t getting a towel. - [ ] Needed to fog the property for mosquitoes. Couldn’t be out doing much after dusk without bathing in repellent - [ ] Second class verses Maroma or akumal. Or dreams Riviera Maya

Mold is an overall problem with the rooms that have not been upgraded. I had to be moved three times in 3 days before I was placed in an acceptable room. My pics and videos are unbelievable. Nelly, the property manager did not looked surprised.

In need of Major Renovation Not the SECRETS BRAND that I'm use to!
Very Misleading, Will not recommend this location to others, I do love the Secrets Brand. In need of Major renovations. My over all experiences was not good. We made the best of a very dilapidated situation.

Pluming
While the staff was great, plumbing issues were plentiful. Toilets not flushing, water backing up, water seeping through the floor from other room. Ceiling drips. Wet floors, A/C not working We used lots of towels to keep floor dry.
