Wonderuful place....just make sure you aren't sharing the resort with a large conference group

Very enjoyable...just ended up having a large conference group (400-500 people) arrive midway thru the stay and was unfortunately not a great experience during their stay..way too many people and impacted everything from pool lounge chairs, excessive drinking and noise and just overall sense of tranquility. Before their arrival and after their departure...would have given this place a 9 out of 10...wonderful staff, great location

Lovely place to relax and to enjoy the Big Island

We had a great relaxing stay at the Fairmont Orchid. The Fairmont Gold staff were great, friendly, and very accommodating. They made our trip feel special and we were welcomed and felt comfortable. Lovely water bottle gifts that came in handy when sightseeing. The hotel grounds were lovely, too. Beautiful beach and lagoon. We will return next time we are visiting the Big Island.

Lack of Accountability in Customer Service

I do find it disappointing that this paid amenity as little gesture of surprise for my husband fell through the cracks. Inconsistent service started even before our arrival. My initial contact was when I initially ordered my amenity. The gentlemen said my husband does not have a room reservation, apparently this person tried different ways to enter my husbands name and still said there was no reservation. As a result, I had my husband double check and call the front desk immediately to make sure he had a reservation. Front desk confirmed the reservation existed. The next person I spoke with to order the amenity was able to complete my order. Fast forward to our arrival at 11am, no amenity. Then I waited to see if it would be delivered during the hotel’s check in time, still nothing. 5pm rolls around and still nothing so I called to find out the status of amenity. I’ve been given 3 different answers as to why my amenity was not delivered. I was told the amenity was already delivered to my room, it was not as I was sitting in my room. Then I was told IRD is closed and now I am being told there was a privacy sign on our door, when we have not used it at all during our stay. Even after I confirmed none of those excuses were not true. The manager still claimed I have a DND on our door., we never used it. This lack of accountability is such bad reflection on your dept’s service. I was so upset that the little surprised was ruined, after all that, I cancelled the amenity completely. I truly was looking forward to experiencing your resort here and am disappointed that has fallen short. Other than that, Front Desk as well as Bell/Valet provided exceptional service.

Everything else was perfect, but somehow, my All Accor Gold Status did not translate to benefits. I was not placed on the Gold Status Floor, and somehow, I did not get my points for my stay. For some reason, I lost the points I had at the time of check-in.
