Primarily a convention centre.
Had we known that it was primarily a convention centre, we would not have booked this hotel. Attendees of conventions took over almost the entire resort to the disadvantage of everyone else. They gathered in groups blocking communal areas, corridors and outside areas with no consideration for other guests. There is no security. Anybody could walk in and move freely around the hotel. In view of recent firearms incidents this is not an acceptable situation. Too many guests were slamming their room doors and talking loudly in corridors when we were trying to sleep. The interior walls are very thin and shake when doors are slammed. Housekeeping was good but they did not service our room every day and did not top up shower gel. The Wi-Fi strength fluctuates. On several occasions there was a weak or absent signal in our room. The complementary transport was useful but there was no shuttle to Universal Studios and the return taxi fare was approximately $100. However, on a positive note, the location is excellent due to its close proximity to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The pool area is very good and was never crowded during our stay. The Fuel deli in the lobby is well stocked and offers a good selection of food and beverages.

Again, please!
This was by far my favorite place to stay. This resort had it all. The room we got was basic - but it was clean and comfy with room for four grown women on a girls trip. The pools - there were so many! At no point did we feel crowded while enjoying pool time (unlike on cruise ships or other resorts). There was just the one slide but it was not crowded or too much. There were like four "spa" tubs for adults. There were five or six restaurants on site. It was great to be able to walk inside the hotel or to the Swan next door and have so many options! We walked to Boardwalk for entertainment in the evening. We took the bus to Disney Springs for shopping. We walked to Epcot. It was just so conveniently located to everything we wanted to do!!

Dolphin Hotel - Mo Bell Attendabt
Mo - Bell Attendant is wonderful We arrived at the hotel and our room wasn’t th ready - Mo helped us out. We wanted to go out and Mo helped me get my sneakers out of suitcase and he was a gentleman with a great cheerful manner. Marriott is lucky to have him as well as the guests at the Dolphin Hotel. Our whole trip was wonderful - the Dolphin was great.

Convenient location to Epcot and Hollywood Studios
I stayed at the Walt Disney World Dolphin for 1 night before heading to a conference. The Tripadvisor review is currently at 3.5, which seems a bit low to me, but I can see the pros and cons. I had already checked in via an app. I arrived late at night, so it was very quiet and was immediately helped by Gabriela. She was wonderful. She quickly checked my ID, including my AAA/CAA card (that's a first for me) for the rate I used, and answered all my questions about early access to the park, and how they know that my purchased ticket is linked to the hotel (which was really surprising). She also upgraded me to the top floor with a really nice view overlooking the water. As I walked to the elevators, I was really impressed with how nice the lobby was, and enticing the restaurants looked. When I got to my floor, that's when things started to look a little worn. Not terrible, but not as impressive as the lobby. I felt the same about my room. It's rather plain, uninspiring, and not particularly Disney-themed (which is fine for me). Beds were OK, but thought the pillows were tough. I can say that it did feel quite large, compared to the Swan which I stayed at after. WiFi was fast and reliable. A couple good eating options in the restaurant. There is a game arcade deep in the lower floor, which my kids would love. The fitness center isn't huge, but still had a good collection of aerobic machines, including a Peloton bike, a separate weight training room, and a cross training room. The cross-training room had a punching bag, which I've never seen in a hotel before. Hotel is a relatively easy walk or free-boat ride away to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Staying at the Dolphin, Swan or Swan Reserve, you can go in 30 minutes earlier than the general public, which is nice bonus. Marriott Bonvoy Elite members get the the choice of 1000 points or one of 4 food package options that vary from kid-friendly with cookies and milk to adult-friendly with beer or wine. There is no benefit extended for not having a concierge lounge. Overall, I enjoyed my stat. Nice hotel in a convenient location. There's premium for being so close to two of the parks, so I would recommend anyone to do their research to see if that price premium is really worth it for walking distance convenience and 30 minutes early entry.

The Dolphin Resort we stayed at was great.....
read some not so good reviews about dolphin....glad we stayed at a different dolphin right across from the swan.....everything was great....great room... great view... great grub and grog... great location....great pools...great staff....tons of pressure and hot water...room even had bottled water...!!!...that's rare today...we've been coming down to WDW for 20 plus years now...done all the mouse world moderate resorts but finally graduated to the swan/dolphin...3 stays at swan 4 stays at dolphin...this is home for us now...just a couple of hillbillies from Maine that know the value of a dollar....yes issues pop up like our last stay day no housekeeping but most likely a staff issue...won't stop us from coming next May for a week....5 thumbs up.....
