VIP Perfection!!! Where do I even begin?
From the moment we stepped off the plane, everything was seamless. We were personally escorted through the airport and into our accommodations before we even had time to process how smooth it all was. I’ve truly never experienced such a flawless arrival. (Our departure was equally pleasant!) We were there celebrating our anniversary, and the entire experience felt extra special from start to finish. The rooms are stunning — spacious, immaculate, and beautifully designed. The property itself is so well maintained that at times I honestly felt like I was on a movie set. Every detail is thoughtfully done. And the staff... absolutely exceptional. A special thank you to Yoseuris (Jo-Jo), who always had the biggest smile and treated us like family. He took such incredible care of our son, going out of his way to make sure he felt included and special. That meant more to us than words can say. It's rare to feel that genuinely cared for while traveling, and he truly went above and beyond to make our anniversary stay unforgettable. We travel quite often, and this may be one of my favorite resorts we’ve ever visited. Thank you for making our celebration so incredibly special — it’s an anniversary we’ll always remember 🤍🏝️🥂🏝️🤍

The Best Birthday Vacation!!
From the moment we arrived at Tortuga Bay, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The entire team — from the warm and welcoming front desk staff, to the attentive drivers, to the incredible bartenders on the beach — made us feel so special every single day. The service was seamless, genuine, and truly five-star. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday vacation. Our villa was absolutely stunning — spacious, elegant, and perfectly maintained. The attention to detail throughout the resort is unmatched, and the personalized touches (like our names on the bicycles!) made the stay feel even more thoughtful and luxurious. Every moment felt curated with care. Thank you again for such a wonderful, unforgettable stay. I’m already counting down until I can return!

Beautiful property with A+ service
We booked this to getaway from the cold, play golf and relax. It’s an AMEX FHR property so we figured it was good enough for a few days. Booked the two bedroom cottage, which was right on the beach. The property is beautiful. Quiet, serene and very well maintained. The staff are super kind, hospitable and and go all the way to make the guests feel at home. Usually service in the Caribbean is quite spotty but this was not the case here. Everything from start to finish was seamless and the WhatsApp group chat answered immediately. The beach is literally right outside and gorgeous. The gym is onsite and small but has everything. The spa is a bit far away by golf cart (where the golf course la Cana is located) and it feels old and run down. I wish there was one on the same property as the hotel. Tennis, padel and pickleball are a golf cart ride away. There are lots of eating options around the property so you won’t get bored. The pool area is small but very pretty. The cottages were upgraded a few years ago but I understood they are going to be completely renovated soon. The bathrooms were old, the a/c system was a bit noisy and the lighting in the rooms bad. The doors and windows were rickety and they need screen doors and windows so that you can leave them open for air and avoid the mosquitoes. The closets also need attention. The cottages definitely need a complete revamp but once done, I can’t wait to come back because the location and the feeling of being very secluded is fantastic and the service is unbelievable.

Treat Yourself, You Won't Regret It!
Tortuga Bay remains a repeat destination for us. This is a luxury, boutique resort that has no peer. Your first luxurious experience is the VIP arrival procedure at the airport, that is included with your stay. This will set the tone for what is to come. It is comfortable, fast and efficient as it processes you, individually, through the airport formalities, and sends you on your way. After being escorted to the resort's transportation, you are personally whisked to the resort. The resort, itself, is an secluded enclave as part of a much larger property. A resort ambassador will quickly check you in to your villa. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and maintained. You are provided a golf cart as well as bicycles, which are helpful in navigating the larger property. The food at Tortuga Bay's restaurants is well-presented, consistent and delicious. Bamboo is proximate to the villas and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We dined there every day for breakfast and had lunch by the pool, directly next to the restaurant. We had two dinners at Bamboo, as well. One of the nights was the weekly (in high season) Dominican night. It featured a five course Dominican menu, music, and a table of crafts for sale. It was well attended and wonderful. Another night, we took a short golf cart ride to La Yola. This is an open, waterfront restaurant with a delightful menu. It also was delicious. We also ate two dinners at restaurants on the larger resort. Brassa, a steak and seafood restaurant by the Westin, was very good with a perfectly cooked fish and steak. We had been there shortly after it had opened a couple of years ago and had been disappointed, but the restaurant has clearly found its footing. We also tried Bao, in the same building, for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. I used the fitness center every day and found it well equipped and spotless. It has a stationary bicycle as well as an upright one, two treadmills, a stepper, free weights and a multi-exercise weight machine. It is also equipped with yoga mats and bosu balls. There is an open air yoga pavilion right outside that was well used. My wife and sister-in-law used the spa on the larger property and had very good massages. On this trip I was struck by the fact that this resort is not resting on its laurels (which are considerable). There is clearly a realization that being the best is not a destination, but rather, a continuous journey. The villas had been recently redecorated and refurnished, enhancing the light, airy Caribbean vibe. Menus at Bamboo and La Yola had been revised. The beach bar had some new surrounding hardscape, and has been equipped with adult tricycles, to enable staff to zip between the beach and Bamboo to transport food. Top management indicated that more changes are on the horizon. As I've said in past reviews, our reason for returning to Tortuga Bay year after year has always been management and staff. Top management is present and available on the grounds daily. Ms. Alcantara is eager to engage guests, greeting them and inquiring about their stay and any needs. This enhances the feeling that you are valued VIPs. I mentioned before, the trip from the airport with Tortuga Bay's driver and private car. We have been fortunate to have been met and transported by Edinson several times. He is the perfect representation of the experience to come. I have mentioned in previous reviews that the vibe from the staff at this luxury property is not the formal, stuffy service that you experience at some high end resorts, but rather, warm and friendly. You feel like family. Once arriving at the property, you are greeted by your ambassador who quickly gives you an introduction to the resort and checks you in at your villa. Diana, Valentina and Carlos were the ambassadors that we interacted with most during our stay. They are great at what they do. We always look forward to our first breakfast, where we are sure to catch up with some old friends and meet new staff. Alcedo, Maikel, Leandro, Yoseuris, Mariluz, and Liz attended us daily . It was great to talk with old friend Alcedo (although we missed hearing his music this trip), see Maikel's great smile and experience Leandro's dry sense of humor. We heard about Yoseuris' trip to the US and Liz' intern rotations. We also heard about other staff that we had met on previous visits, that had moved upward and onward. It is clear that the training and experience gained at Tortuga Bay can open many doors. During the days, we were delighted to talk with Richard, Rosquer and Angel, as they served us by the pool. At dinners at Bamboo, it was great to reconnect with Antonio, Bernardo, Moises, and Damian. We had the honor to get a picture with the entire Bamboo kitchen staff and meet Head Chef Mikey and pastry chef Chanel. It was always great to return to our villa which was perfectly maintained by Santa and Willy. As always, we watched in daily amazement as Daniel was in perpetual motion maintaining the grounds by Bamboo and the pool. He seemingly would catch every falling leave before it could hit the ground. You cannot find a better luxury experience anywhere!

The beach front restaurant Mare' has opened
My wife and I, plus our daughter and her 2 little girls, made our 2nd family trip to TBH. My wife and I have come here once or twice a year since TBH opened in 2006. The Mare' beach front restaurant has just opened with an ocean vibe. The VIP airport service makes you feel like a movie star. We went to a baseball game in La Romana which you can book with Punta Cana Tours (season is Nov. through mid Jan.). We have already booked out November 2026 return to celebrate our 20th year of coming to this special place. I served in the DR as a US Peace Corps Vol. and the staff are what makes this special. Special shout out to the Embasador Winifer who is expecting her first child!
