My stay at the Bahia Principe grand tulum
The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are stunning staff lovely very polite and helpful. Are favourite place was the quiet pool and the bar staff there were amazing. Would I go back yes absolutely 100% would I recommend yes 100% first time in my life I didn't want to leave a hotel. The only negative but wasn't a problem the room needed an upgrade but was very comfortable and big but wouldn't put me off going back or recommending. The staff are so polite and friendly and helpful. And the grounds are stunning so clean and well maintained. And believe me not an easy task as this hotel grounds are huge. The wildlife everything was beautiful.

What a wonderful vacation!
This resort is absolutely beautiful. We were 2 couples and loved it. The food is excellent. Whether the buffet, food truck or the restaurants. The service received from the servers, bar staff, buffet staff, animators, house cleaning is excellent! Very friendly and hard working staff. The resort is extremely clean. My only complaint is the room felt a little damp even with the a/c on. But not enough to ruin our stay. The other issue is the beach which is full of seaweed, but this is not the resort's fault. The seaweed is a problem in many areas. I would definitely return to this resort.

Disaster
Lack of ambience, always running out of food in the buffet and snack bar areas inadequate staff serving in the bar areas creating long queues at best one or two people. Ni cups at the water station. Lack of bars and eating areas. They seem to cater for heavy drinkers and the noice at the swimming pools is deafening with music booming out all day. Entertainment for adults is non existent in terms of selection. The hotel has definitely lost its soul and offers little ambience or out door activities 🤔 Sadly they will lose many loyal customers based on the conversations we had with any other guest's.

Holiday update arrived 19th may. Poor start!!
Just arrived Bahia tulum with TUI yesterday. Terrible start!!! been to Bahía Jamaica and Fantasia in dom rep these included welcoming drinks. Here it’s doesn’t exist after 12hr of travelling to get here with 2 small kids. room 33506 junior suite allocated asked for room with balcony got bottom floor asked to move said not possible nothing else available. Wanted to charge me $1800 dollars for upgraded room spent £4000 already thank you! Rooms smells of damp, the lamp light fixing on wall are loose and hanging off and full of dust looks disgusting ( I believe this isn’t healthy for ppls welfare breathing in dust from the fan and air con). Air con is loud and has ticking noise so sounds like a helicopter is taking off. Good luck sleeping, I’m here for 14 nights aswel. Only 1 plug socket for charging in the whole room what’s all that about aswel. Had no ironing board in room called up reception and waited hr nothing arrived so just went to dinner. Come back to room and not arrived! Buffet dinner I couldn’t believe didn’t even have simple things like chips and nuggets for kids which even a 1 star hotel would provide at all inclusive. Rest was tasteless and burgers worse than McDonald’s (like your rustlers you get from Asda for £1) This is just day 1!! Now on to the recent fire at coba which I knew is not Bahia fault and is act of god and nothing can be done about that. I went down to TUI shop before leaving and was told restaurants and buffet are closed so can’t use them just the swimming pool and waterpark but extra dining facilities are available at akumel so we decided didn’t seem too bad (took screenshot of this for proof in shop) I found out had to pay $18 a day to use akumel facilities when coba guest are freely allowed to roam around all 3 resorts. I specially paid £700 more to go to tulum instead of coba so I get choice of 2 resorts and use tulum and coba, as if I had just paid to stay at coba I could only use coba as tulum is (supposed) to be a more premium hotel. From what I have gathered coba is allowed to use all 3 and we are restricted to 2 resorts. How unfair is that? I’m may aswel of just paid to go to coba and get more gains. If you’re looking for luxury holiday to Mexico forgot about this resort. I will obviously update and progress of my holiday as we go along hoping things will improve.

Will be returning!!
I stayed here for a 3 night stay and LOVED IT! The food was good and the atmosphere was great. This place had a good variety of food. The Brazilian restaurant and Mexican restaurant were my favorites! I want to highlight the people who were a part of making our stay so memorable. Rodolfo at check in was delightful and made our check in process so smooth and even got us into our room 30 min early after learning that we had been traveling since 2am. Adan at the buffet was a ray of sunshine. He always took great care of us and has such a fun energy. Carlos the director of food was amazing took great care of us. Victor was our server at the Mexican restaurant and he was so attentive and sweet. Librado was our bartender at the swim up bar and I was just so amazed at how he handled that bar alone and made sure everyone was taken care of and was just so much fun. I want to return to this hotel in the future and plan on referring friends and family as well.
