A great experience on the whole. Would highly recommend it.
Good stuff Friendly staff that actually look happy for the most part. Some activities always going on. Look at the daily breakdown for adults and kids on the two screens behind the bar in main lounge area. Really good food - the buffet is good for ANY of the meals. There is abundant choice, so make sure that you walk around and really look. Great setting - physically a new place. Great sense of ambiance. Can see the ocean from almost anywhere due to the terraced structure of the property Good coffee. - Ary makes good coffee - get coffee is the common area at the lounge vs in the restaurants or buffet. Good drinks - Hector makes great drinks and puts in a show. Night time activities- the glow party was really cool. Michael Jackson show is great. Rooms are cleaned well. And are sizeable with high quality furniture. Good sound proofing. Great blackout curtains. Good water pressure with rain head showers. Always available dessert at the dessert station. With toppings of your choice. There is also a Taco bar. The sand on the beach is perfect. Soft, fine and a real pleasure to sit on or to make sand castles with. It is cleaned daily. There are still some cigarette buds that need to be picked up more regularly. Great Gym - lots of machines and kept really clean with washrooms nearby. Negatives We booked through Costco and flew from Air Transat. The flight lands at 7pm and so you get to the hotel by around 9pm. The checkout on the day of checkout is at Noon and the flight leaves at 8:30pm. Leaving a huge gap. Costco should have an understanding with Hilton, that since guests are checking in so late, they can get a later checkout without having to haggle for it. Sunan restaurant stood out as an underperformer. Some of the staff were not friendly. Luckily Josias stepped in during part of our lunch and he was very friendly. But they overall seemed disorganized and food wasn’t as good. Check in took forever. Digital concierge is not easy to use.

Beautiful and well kept hotel
The good: Service was really good - shout out to Humberto, marcelino and Jehovah at the Mexican restaurant and Raymundo, Horman, Dafne and Venesa at the buffet for going above and beyond. Beach - the beach isn’t huge but it’s there. Seaweed cleaned daily and sand for sitting/digging/playing etc. Pools - pools were fabulous, kids splash pad was ideal and the main pool temp was perfect. Kids club was brilliant, my 5 year old loved it and was keen to go back every day. The whole team was lovely and the really looked after him. The gym with good with lots of fitness classes on offer The mixed: Reservations - you can make a reservation 3 days in advance, either via the app or at the desks. If you’re flexible on time/resteraunt you can easily get a reservation for each evening, but if you have a specific time or restaurant in mind, it could get tricky. It’s also harder on the evenings that certain restaurants are closed. Drinks - Two types of house red on offer - Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot. The Cabernet in the red bottle is the best. Other alcoholic drinks were all named brand spirits and we enjoyed what was on offer. On the other hand, the juices were quite sweet and cocktails used syrup over fresh fruit. There was a smoothie station at breakfast though! Things to be improved : The night we booked the Italian we turned up, to only be told “you either need to sit separately or sit outside” since the evening was mild we chose outside, however we were then the only ones outside and the service was shocking. We were clearly just forgot about. We gave up half way through and went to the buffet. Some things weren’t advertised very well - for example the hotel provided some beach toys - but if you couldn’t find them you wouldn’t know. Hotel markup on things in the gift shop etc is crazy. A bucket and spade set cost over £25! Menus missing for drinks - bar staff will make anything that’s asked for, but it’s nice to have a menu so you can try new things! Side note - this hotel is isolated, so if you’re after an adventure/party holiday or exploring every day, it might not be for you. There’s lots of tour options available but the hotel itself is about 20 miles south of the hotel zone in Cancun.
