Mixology - Jorge
Jorge running the mixology bar that travels around the pool is amazing! He’s extremely friendly at all times and gets very creative with his drinks! If you see Jorge rolling the mixology cart around, I definitely recommend you grab a drink from him!

Velas Vallarta
Pool service is amazing! Resort is beautiful and Mixology bar was a hit, Jorge made wonderful drinks. Food at night was exceptional. Top notch services from the time we arrived to the time we departed. Only issue I had they changed dress code at Riberia restaurant, not a fan. And the breakfast was plain. Christiana was amazing in the beach restaurant and Omar at Andeas. 5 stars

Beautiful, Safe, and Family-Friendly Resort!
I recently stayed at this resort in Mexico and had a fantastic experience. The property is absolutely beautiful—very well-maintained, spotless, and felt extremely safe throughout my stay. There was always staff present and easy to find if you had any questions or needed assistance. I had a minor issue with a clogged bathroom sink, and someone was there to fix it within minutes, which really impressed me. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the pools were perfect for relaxing. It’s a wonderful, family-friendly resort that prioritizes both comfort and safety. I would highly recommend it and am already looking forward to coming back!

Woth the money, all things considered
Flying from Toronto, arrived at 9 p.m. on a Friday night. Our friends were already there 2 days ahead of us. I ordered a private taxi from the airport at $18 per person (2) through the hotel. BIG MISTAKE! The cab ride was 5 minutes. When I arrived there was a sign at the front door saying the actual cost to go to the airport was 80 pesos... I cancelled the return booking and sure enough they were right. I consider this a major rip-off by the hotel and it should be stopped immediately. We originally booked a bachelor suite, but upgraded to a one bedroom suite (by email about one week out) - what a major improvement. It cost an extra $1,000 but there is no comparison. We saw the bachelor suites and they were ridiculousy tiny with no view and we would have not been happy. That said, we loved our accomodations. The grounds are very impressive, the pools and adjoining steams were great, and the pool bar made delicious drinks including espresso martinis and anjeo tequila. Make sure when you ask for a tequila that you demand anjeo. I am a tequila expert with over 60 bottles in my collection and trust me there is no comparison. I wouldn't wash my car with the low end clear stuff they automatically give you. The bars close at 10:00, which was fine for us (in 70's) but not so much for anyone who wants to party. There was supposed to be a lobby bar but we never found it, or needed it. There really isn't a "bar" at all, just in the restaurants. There are two restaurants, which I thought would be a big problem getting into, but it wasn't an issue at all. Mind you we went the week before March Break. In general the food was fair to good. Nothing great, but we found that off site in the city at El Dorado - amazing lobster dinner on the beach! The stetak was cooked perfetly (medium rare) but unfortunately not the greatest quality. What they did well was the shrimp. Did not see anything at any of the buffets that interested us, we stuck to the a la carte menu. The gelato bar was a real treat, and the poolside food was good, especially the pizzas (surprisingly). All of the staff were lovely and attentive. The entertainment was exactly what you expect - a lovely local mariachi band and other home grown talent. This is our third time in Puerto Vallarta and overall we had a great time. At $1000 a day we feel we got our monies worth!

Lovely Ambience
I would echo the very positive reviews on this site. We stayed as a family of four (with two adult sons) this month. The facility is very well-maintained, very clean, and with beautiful gardens and pools. The staff are so friendly and welcoming that the entire ambience at Velas Vallart is quite exceptional. We enjoyed the food and our two suites. There were lots of activities for our adult sons - tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball. The early morning yoga was another lovely activity. My one minor quibble would be the resort wifi which was a bit erratic at times, but otherwise, we were so pleased with our week stay. I would definitely recommend Velas Vallarta.
