Overall a nice hotel. We had a good experience, but we much prefer Mexico resorts.
Just returned from 8 days at the resort. The lobby and grounds are beautiful. Beach has soft sand and clear water. No annoying seaweed. Plenty of palapas and lounge chairs along the beach. Beach bar at the base of a faux lighthouse. A snack bar has burgers, hot dogs, fries and nachos. Wait staff is friendly but most speak little or no English. Most of the clientele is from South America. There is a buffet restaurant by the beach but it was only open for lunch on weekends. Other days we had to go up to the main buffet close to the lobby. Buffet selection was generally good, but we’ve had better selection of hot dishes. Lots of fresh salad, and charcuterie items. We didn’t try any of the a la carte restaurants. We started sitting at the pool, but the bottom of the pool was very dirty. We preferred the beach. Rooms were modern and clean, but on the small side versus resorts in Mexico where we have stayed. Many rooms were still under renovation. We stayed in an upgraded premium bayahibe room near the pool and beach. The hallways adjacent to the rooms were sometimes dirty. Spilled items sometimes sat for days before getting cleaned up.

Fabulous
This is one beautiful place I’ve been here on many occasions and it’s always felt so special. There are a few staff that go way beyond what there job titles are , so for this reason a special thanks to junior the tennis coach ,who has given me an hour a day of his time teaching me the basics of tennis having a good old laugh at each other and being so very friendly. Also the boys in the gym especially Nelson who has put my aches and pains to rest being so knowledgeable he is a credit to the hotel. If you want good clean food, nice rooms beautiful gardens and friendly staff this is the place to go

Our first time here
This is a very first time at this particular resort. My wife and I hold a rose gold membership at all Iberostar resorts, but this is our first time at this particular resort. we normally go to the Granf Bávaro. We decided to go to the Hacienda because we had younger children accompany us this time. I have to really admit that everything was absolutely amazing. The staff were so friendly and attentive that they spoiled us just as much as we were spoiled at the grand. The grounds were beautiful with plants and exotic animals all over the place. Everything was so clean And well kept. There are a few people that I want to mention that help make this seven day visit so exciting and memorable. Our niece never left her country nor did she ever step foot in the ocean. All I asked the staff is to please make sure that our niece has a vacation that will never be forgotten by her. She is 12 years old. They made sure that her first trip was as magical as can be. That child never stop smiling and laughing for seven days. It was great to experience that. Thanks to everyone at the resort. Now, for everyone that made this trip amazing , not only for our niece, but for all of us as well. First Albenis ,she the resorts meitress. This woman in our opinion is a god. She put a crew together for us to be by our side had to make sure that we needed nothing and had everything at our side. Including our rooms to be at its very best and our food and beverages. I can’t say enough about the treatment that we receive thanks to her. She even took time off her very busy schedule to sit down with us to make sure that we were content and comfortable and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation as a family. Deivi from the prestige for breakfast and lunch always had our table ready with everything that we needed. There was one time where my sister-in-law was at the beach with my niece and he asked us if he could bring her something at the beach so we called our sister-in-law and she ordered breakfast and he, ran to the beach and and set up a small table at the beach for her and our niece to enjoy their breakfast. People, that is a type of treatment that you will receive at the grand. And it was done at this resort. At the prestige Beach lounge you’ll find Carlos and Christian and their crew. Carlos is full of energy. And so is this crew. Here you will experience a true Caribbean Dominican style of enjoyment. Music dancing laughter jokes you name it it’s there you will have such a great time with them. Drinks are amazing. You’ll also find Willie the prestige Chef. He makes an incredible Dominican sancocho And paella right in front of you fresh as can be with incredible seasoning and taste. Edwin, our waiter at the prestige buffet never missed a beat. It made sure that all beverages and all garnishes were ready to go at our own private table. That was set right underneath a ceiling fan so that we can eat comfortably. At the French restaurant you will find Merary. she was incredible. So attentive so funny she made every evening enjoyable. Now we only ate at the French restaurant because the French restaurant was really nice and cool compared to the others. But Merary also took the trouble along with Chef Moises to show us the menus of the other restaurants and they would order them and bring it to our table at the French restaurant. incredible service. Never seen that before but I have to admit I truly enjoyed it. I asked Chef Moises to make me a special Peruvian dish and he made it to perfection. Samuel also at the French restaurant was in charge of desert. They really had great desert. If it wasn’t on the cart Samuel will have someone make it. Isidro and Carlos , also at the prestige buffet were always waiting for us at entrance of the restaurant and walked us to our table and made sure that our day would start perfectly and perfectly it did. Angela who you will find at the entrance of the French restaurant always greeted us with a big smile and would walk us to our table that was always ready with our selected beverages without fail. I hope I did not forget anyone, but if I did, please forgive us. All in all thank you all of you from the cleaning staff to upper management for a great first visit at your resort.

Beaches, drinks, pool and fun
I loved staying here with my family, perfect hotel for people with children due to the entertainment and kids-only pool area. It was a clean hotel with good internet access. Its only fault was the Mexican restaurant, the service was poor and the food was not great, tiny portions with limited options. I would suggest missing this one out and going for the buffet as this was consistently good throughout. There was also an incident with finding glass in my mouth. I spoke with the staff who brushed me off at first but I spoke to the people at guest services who were nice but didn't really find a resolution.

THE BEST BEACH IN BAYAHIBE
Spectacular Beach and service! The hotel it looks that need some upgrades related with more restrooms in lobby and others areas and AC IN IT, please! Theater amenities are ok, performers are the best, Wardrobe great, but the scenario itself is too small and scenography really poor… compared with another Iberostar Hotels around. Food and drinks really unique in quality and variety! Highly recommended!
