Oct 14, 2024Would recommend for a solo traveller !
Absolutely fantastic stay at The Secrets and it’s not my first one! I will take the time to write a detailed review as per my experience it’s important to acknowledge the hard work and helpfulness of the crew and beauty of the installations. I travel a lot for work and for personal and this was a very great and pleasant experience! Trip: Solo female in her 30’- early October. First you have a concierge connecting via WhatsApp helping you with your stay. My concierge Marlen was very thoughtful and wrote me everyday to ensure my stay was as expected ! Always quick to respond, she addresses needs effectively and also went out of her way to assist me with a lost item and also with my transfer back to the airport! Check in and check out: A breeze and simple experience as it should- rooms are ready on time (3pm) Room :Amazingly clean - very big and mine overlooked a quiet pool. You have a balcony with either a bathtub or a shared pool. You have all you need in the room and more. Good pillows and mattresses - good and hot water pressure. Cleaned twice a day - thanks to Manuel Resort is very clean and modern- they celebrated their 1 year Oct 2024. Bar choice and staff: Amazing, available very accommodating. Good choice of alcohol ( they vary from bar to bar but they do have premium liquors so no complaints) ! A thanks to Delia, Jeremias, Ivan and Uriel! Beach club and staff: Commute every 30 min in a minibus and it’s very conveniently done- 15 min to the beach club - cold beverages in the bus if you want them. Absolutely not a problem for it not to be on the beach- the beach club as all you need for a day! beach club installations were great with impeccable towel, setting and services Albert & Miguel’s went out of their way to assist in making sure my beach days were great! Beach club Entertainment: even if it’s not my thing they kept guest entertained I loved the artistic twist specially the bracelets making atelier with Johnny!! Playing music sometimes a little loud but that’s ok (still able to do my reading no issues) Beach food & Bar: they were all amazing; came with cold water and frequently to refresh our beverages. Good choice again of alcohol but slightly less than the resort ( not at problem just a remark). Food was very good - good menu especially the Fish tacos. They had a tacos pop up one day. A huge thanks to Arely, Jose, Fernando & Luis! Entertainment: very good shows and activities- didn’t participate much ( less my thing) but from what I’ve sampled it was great! Restaurant 3 choices all à la carte no need to make a reservation. Food is great in all 3 with good presentation and excellent service. Buffet is good as well for breakfast - can’t say much about the lunch as I ate at the beach! Resort was calm as I was in a lower season. BRING MOSQUITOES REPELLENT - they have some in the room for you if you forgot but bring the heavy duty stuff ! mosquitoes loves you there ( maybe it was just me…)! that’s one of the only downside or as I should say price to pay for having luxurious vegetation onsite. Very safe area for a single travellers- other guests were friendly I would absolutely recommend

Really good experience
It was the best experience I have ever met in my entire life The front desk manager called Jesus once we arrived and he knew that we celebrate our honeymoon He asked us to wait for 30 minutes and our room will be ready We were shocked once we arrived to the room, it was upgraded on his choice to room with private pool with no extra fees (which cost extra 600$) Also served us with special food and drink to the room When we cross by every day he keep asking if we need any help or extra things Also gave us a free night at the beach resort for free The front desk manager also in the beach is kind

As an all inclusive, I expected much better from the food/drink aspect. The ambiance and aesthetics of the resort was beautiful from the inside, the suites were spacious, comfortable, and relaxing. It's understood that improvements are on the horizon, plenty of small changes, modifications, or additions go a long way.

Scam dont stay here the staff scammed me and my wife $200 just to get some tylenol, also if ur wanting to get any where outside the resort that isnt the beach club its $100 from the taxis the resort provides but if you get a cab drive that doesnt work for the resort it was 40$ This whole resort feels very over priced and corrupt take you money else where

Hotel is in a developing part of Tulum so there is nothing around pertaining to stores or restaurants. Closest thing is a 7-11 about 3/4 of a mile away. Hotel is not directly on the beach but rather in the middle of the jungle. 20 minute shuttle is needed that runs every 30-45 minutes to there beach location. Beach is only open 9am-5pm with the bar opening at 11am to serve drinks. Food at the resort was just ok but nothing to be in aw about. Steak of over cooked, risotto was under cooked, and some appetizers were greasy. October is off season in Tulum so about 1/3 of the hotel was closed due to this and about 1/2 of the area around the beach was closed because of this. If you are looking for an isolated resort with a pool this is it but if not keep looking somewhere else.
