Very relaxing and beautiful.
The staff was amazing and very friendly. Our butler, Miguel, was very pleasant and helpful throughout our entire stay. He was always easy to get in contact with and he ensured we had a wonderful stay. We would come back again for the service alone.

I would def recommend!
The experience was marvelous! The people who worked there were very friendly and warm! The food was very good. The breakfast marketplace was awesome. The entertainment was also very good. Overall great experience with very helpful and kind employees. Our butlers name was Carlos Javier, he was excellent!! His work was impeccable! We felt extremely accommodated and comfortable reaching out to him for whatever we needed. Roger and Maria X.

Welcome Home - possibly the best adults only AI in Punta Cana
We have recently returned from a two week stay, our 2nd Christmas at SCC from 13th – 27th December, which we enjoyed very much. As returning guests it was lovely to see so many of the staff who had made our Christmas holiday so great 12 months earlier, including our fabulous butler Enrique who was waiting for us when we arrived, and took us straight to check-in and then the upgraded room that he had sorted for us. Overall we had a great holiday, however there were some things that were better than others. Our major disappointment was the fact that the preferred lounge was closed until our final evening due to renovations. For the majority of the time it appeared that no work was actually being done, and there were no explanations as to why the renovations were taking so long (it was originally meant to be closed for a much shorter period of time). The lack of an enclosed bar of an evening is an especially big deal to us. I get bitten a LOT (even with spray) and I react really badly, which meant I suffered more on this holiday than I should have done! When it did finally re-open we were advised that it will now only be open from 5-11pm whereas it was previously open all day. This means there are less toilets for use during the day at the preferred pool, and there is nowhere to get short periods of respite during the day from the sun (or rain). We would urge the management of the hotel to reconsider this decision – the preferred club at SCC is already one of the weakest in the Secrets chain (not the staff), and this decision is just a terrible one. Over the course of our two weeks we ate at all of the restaurants with the exception of the Mexican as the menu really doesn’t appeal to us (and judging by how empty it was on many evenings; I’d suggest the same may apply to lots of other people guests) Portofino – we ate here twice. Our first visit was really disappointing and the service was really not very good at all. Thankfully it was better on our second visit. The food however was good on both visits. My biggest suggestion for Portofino is to ensure consistency of experience. On our 2nd visit we got canapes prior to getting our meal whereas on our first visit we did not! Oceana – we only visited once for breakfast, and sadly we had a poor experience. It took over 40 mins to get our cooked breakfasts, and whilst my meal was fine, everything on my husband’s plate was stone cold (with the exception of the Hash Brown). It was like everything else had been sat there whilst waiting for these to be cooked. The poached eggs were also very undercooked. What surprised us more was that none of the staff checked in to see how our food was and no-one noticed that we just upped and left within minutes of our food being delivered. Bordeaux – we ate here on a few occasions (including Christmas eve with the special menu), the food was always great and the service attentive. Shout outs to Fernando & Julia for going above and beyond. Seaside Grill – we ate here both at lunch and dinner. In fact we ate here so regularly that by the time we left the staff knew that my husband would only want Perrier water to drink (he doesn’t “drink”) and they’d often have it waiting for him (Thanks to Julia for giving Royer the heads up)! Rosewater / Pool Bar / Preferred bar – I’ve rolled these all into one as for the majority of our holiday Rosewater was acting as the preferred bar as well as its “regular” duties. The food was always great, and depending on the time of day, we were given a great welcome from Keila, Rigoberto or Julia. Our pool servers and the bar staff Francisco, Esperanza, Stephany & Bioty all soon got the hang of a Michelle “special” Strawberry Daquiri and also provided us with entertainment around the pool!, and even though Yuleisy wasn’t assigned to our area she visited us often to check in on us and make us laugh. Javier had temporarily (we thought) moved to the Rosewater bar due to the closure of the preferred club, and is just the friendliest barman, and Francy makes the BEST espresso martini’s and some mean non alcoholic cocktails as well. Himistu – we did both the “show” and the a-la-carte. Our personal preference was the a-la-carte (we’ve done the “show” numerous times), but if you haven’t – you should… just be aware it’s loud and you’ll need to “participate”. Market Café – was the restaurant we visited the most during our 2 weeks as we used it regularly for both breakfast and lunch (I’d be surprised if you could beat the buffet breakfast anywhere). We were always welcomed with a smile by one or more of Conan, Reshel, Heidi or Rosmary (and occasionally a drawing), service particularly stood out from Robert & Melly (supervisors), Enoc, Ana, Ariel & Carmen. In addition to the food, there are lots of other areas of the hotel and staff that deserve recognition. The daily “treats” around the pool: Jackson with his fresh coconuts, Franklin with his post lunch crepes and the endless trays of food from the kitchen (which we assume were to make up for the preferred lounge being closed as there seemed to be a LOT more of them this year). We did however miss the “popsicle” bike – the bike had apparently “died” (staff words not mine).. we truly hope to see it again on our next visit. We tried the “healthy corner” for the first time this year, and the service from Marilin was just as “sharp” as the juices themselves (hint: add some honey… it helps (a bit)). Then there are the “unsung” staff, housekeeping – our room maid Estela, Nancy who was forever cleaning the toilets behind the healthy corner, pool attendants Wanda & Nerissa and pool cleaner Ramon. Unlike last year, we also made use of some of the activities available: Jewellery making x 2, Macrame and Kayaking. The range of activities is great, and I’m sure there is pretty much something for everyone. Things for the hotel to consider: Preferred bar opening times (if you haven’t worked it out this is a BIG deal for us, seating in the lobby (there isn’t enough for everyone who might want a seat in the evenings) the pool tables – they were in a bad state last year, they’re now in desperate need of being re-covered, and the cues desperately need either their tips replaced or to be replaced in full. In addition there is a no smoking policy around the preferred pool but this is ignored by some guests and yes we can complain and the staff would ask the smokers to cease but this means we have to complain frequently which is something we do not want to do as this holiday is supposed to be stress free. There should be no smoking/vaping signs at every entrance to the preferred pool area and staff should be empowered to enforce this. This should not be left up to guests to sort out. We will be back next Christmas, but unless the Preferred club and smoking / vaping issues are sorted it might sadly be our last.

Secrets Trip!
We had the best time at Secrets! It honestly was the best trip my husband and I had. The people were so nice! They had the best coffee cafe with the kindest staff! I can’t remember their names but all of them made my morning each day I was there!! Our guy Jeison Calderon was wonderful!! He helped me get medicine when we arrived there. Had his number to text him day or night. The kindest and helpful person ever. We can’t wait to go back and see them again!
