    Would not come back

The hotel is not of a high standard, cost cutting is obvious. They charge a 5☆ price for a 3☆ hotel. I am disabled, often using my electric wheelchair or scooter. My chair broke completely while here, I hired a scooter from the hotel, a great facility however I should have hired externally. The hotel dies not permit their equipment to be removed from the hotel. I could not do any tours because of this and felt a bit like a prisoner. There is only one lift available in Jamaica and an out of service station Lady Hamilton. The floor levels at the access to the lift are very uneven and jammed my electric wheelchair. I later changed to a hotel hired scooter, it fitted into the lift with only inches to spare. Although the staff are very friendly, the service in all departments appears to be very poor, We had one major issue over guests in the adjacent room smoking. Thus us against the hotel rules. The smoke coming through our air conditioning and stinking out our room, my wife suffers from athma. It took 2 days to resolve and it was all on our part, we had to move. In dining, basics are missing, we had to ask for salt and cutlery on more times than not. Food in the specialist restaurants is average to good at best, depending on restaurant and choice. The buffet sections in these restaurants is poor such as basic items missing, buffet not replenished. The main are even worse, so poor it is laughable. Basic items missing, salt, pepper, butter etc. Buffet not replenished, or not available such as orange juice. It does not take much to asign someone to keep an eye on buffet and replenish when running low, they wait till it runs out and then require a guest to ask them for it. The main meat is of poor quality, very fatty. The meat is cooked so badly it was tougher than my old shoes and certainly I had problems cutting it. Very small bones in the chicken and lamb dishes espescially is dangerous if swallowed by a youngster. The remperature of food in general was luke warm at best, espescially during breakfast. Other places, such as the sports bar and the jerk hut, provided good foid but still failed on time taken for service alongvwith missing or unavailable items, chicken tenders missing 2 out of 3 days and how can the chicken jerk hut run out of chicken just after 12 o'clock? The fabric maintenance of the building is poor, missing or cracked tiles, paint flaking off, streak mark at drain pipes, uneven floors, especially at lift, lady hamilton lift out of order throughout, external walk / driveways with ridges and pot holes. A maintenance example with no thought behind it. The area used by the Blue Lagoon is only open 3 out of 7 days. They had been painting in the area when it was closed utilising a tower scaffold, surely you would expect the tower to be removed during the blue Lagoon open times, it did have wheels. Nope lets put tables and chairs out beside the scaffold! I am only going to touch on health and safety. I mentioned the walk and roadways, unattended scaffold tower, missing tiles, people smoking where they shouldn't, co2 cylinder bounced down the stairs, pressurised beer barrel bounced down the stairs, broken glass by the pool took over 45 minutes from being reported to being cleaned up, painters painting the outside of the bar area, over the pool, while guests in pool underneath. If you read some of the lesser star reviews, the points I have raised are nothing new even though management have commented to say they would look into the issues.
