Amazing stay at the Ambar
It was our 7th time at this hotel. We have nothing negative to report…room food drinks service, everything is just perfect. A special thanks to the amazing trio at the pool: Desiree, Marlene and Bianca who are working so hard and to Maura at the Las Brisas during lunch

Just amazing !!!
Beautiful room with swim up pool. Staff very friendly. Hotel pool was great and the swim up bar was amazing. Entertainment in the day was very good. Having a beach front location was perfect, the sea was so clear, with a white sand beach. Will definitely return.

A Mostly Luxurious Stay at Ambar - Adults Only, but Some Issues with the Beach Bar
My recent stay at the Ambar - Adults Only section of the resort was filled with luxury, relaxation, and indulgence, but unfortunately, it wasn’t without its disappointments. While there were many highlights (many more than disappointments), including the food, beach, pool, and the exceptional staff in certain areas, the service at the beach bar was inconsistent when staff changed. Some bartenders seemed disinterested, dismissive or just needing a refresher in hospitality!! The most troubling issue was the apparent tampering of liquor bottles at the beach bar. On more than one occasion, the drinks tasted noticeably off, with certain brands not matching their usual quality or flavor - easy to spot when you primary drink is straight!

Great visit!
Great trip to Punta Cana! Staff was very accommodating and willing to serve. Food was mixed, just like what I cook. Some great, some ok. Very clean and safe. Not a brand new build so there was some visible wear but NOTHING THAT IMPACTED OUR VISIT. Lots of food choices. Pool seating was adequate. Beach was great as it had lots of seating in shade. Juts a great trip!

10 Days at Ambar
My wife and I spent 10 days at this resort in mid-January. It was our first time at this resort although we had stayed at the Grand Aquamarine resort twice before. We decided to try the Ambar for its proximity to the beach. Our room was well located, mid-way between the reception area with the buffet and bar and the pool and beach area. Our room was a second floor corner unit and was spacious and well appointed with a large balcony, sitting area with a free-standing soaker tub, king bed, well-stocked fridge and large shower area. Housekeeping was pretty good, although we had to make a couple of requests for facecloths and towels, ran out of shower gel and tissues, had a problem with the room safe and water pressure one day. Each issue was very quickly resolved after speaking to the concierge located in our building. We ate breakfast at the buffet and the food selection has something for everyone. Tables are plentiful and service is very good. We usually had lunch at the beach/pool buffet restaurant, Las Brisas, which had lots of choice and was quite good. We split our dinners between the buffet which had an excellent selection and several of the speciality restaurants. We ate at El Olivo and Mashua Nikkei which are located at Grand Aquamarine. Service and food were very good. We ate at Naan which was at Esmeralda. This was a six-course tasting menu which was really good, service was well timed and very pleasant. We also ate at Portofino, M.E.A.T and Limbo which were at Luxury Ambar. M.E.A.T was quite good, Limbo was excellent and although service was fine at all the restaurants, unfortunately, our meal at Portofino was very disappointing. There was entertainment every evening, either located in the main lobby area, pool or beach. There are also kayaks and catamarans available for guests and we enjoyed sailing almost every day. The staff at the water sports location were great to deal with. There were a couple of things we did notice from our previous trips to this resort, mainly the cat population has grown considerably since we were there a year ago. We also got rain almost every night or very early morning. Although we had great weather during the day, the rain resulted in lots of mosquitoes and no-see-ems which we had never been troubled by before, so while we came home with a tan, we also had lots of bug bites. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The grounds are very well maintained and very pretty. We had a great vacation and would certainly return.
