Will not go back to the hotel.
First trip to PC and the hotel was a big letdown. There is no way this is a 5 start resort. 2 at best. The rooms say renovated, they are not. They just paint over every issue possible. There were spots on our ceiling that looked wet and moldy, if you toughed it, it was indeed wet. We arrived to a room with no AC. They said they'd send someone to fix it (panel wouldn't come on) we came back hours later, it was still hot. Moved to a new room, different building, still moldy, even worse smell, and doors with slats you could see through! Yikes. Mini bar and towels not restocked when asked, they did not seem to have washclothes/face towels after day one for any of our rooms. The beach is the only plus side and made the stay bearable. The food is not good. Every pastry tasted like my Granny's old house.

Relaxing resort
Had a great time at Ambar. Nicely decorated rooms and restaurants. Coffee shop was great, trolly ride to sister resorts were fun. The gym was adequate for my workouts.Staff goes above and beyond. Shout out to Kerlin, David, Juan, and the entire buffet staff. Very friendly, attentive, and just a pleasure to be around. The only negatives I had with the resort were that it had only one pool, and I wish they had more options at the buffet. Ambar still was a beautiful resort, with great vibes that I would recommend all to stay!

Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. A great holiday.
A great holiday again with Bahia Principe hotels.Front desk at Ambar was excellent. Our block of rooms was opposite the main lobby and excellent coffee shop. All had been completely renovated. Our room was very spacious with immediate hot water in the big shower and the wardrobes all lit up when you opened the door.Aircon was great and much needed. We loved the cocktail bar at Limbo. Emmanuel was excellent making my Ultimate Margarita ! Went there every evening before dinner and most nights after dinner ! Can recommend the alacartes too.We got the app 10 days before our arrival and managed to book all the 9 that we wanted. Limbo, MEAT, Naan, Olivio, Rodizio. All excellent, though on our first visit to MEAT we had the best ever ribeye the return meal was unfortunately nearly completely fat and grizzle. Had a couple of bbq lunches on the beach where it had been set-up. The atmosphere and live reggae band were brilliant. All in all a great holiday. With hot, hot weather.

Great time with friends, October is hot!
Great site, beautiful beach and pool. Consider private pools room, the best food you will find at Palmyra Buffer at Bahia Amber. Restaurants are waste of time, exception MEAT and Limbo. Best English/Spanish driver David Rojas, consider going outside of the Bahia resort.

Not luxury - been before gone downhill!
I’ve been to this resort 2 years ago and really enjoyed but this time was different. Agree with the other reviews definite not luxury- service was terrible except at the cheaper resorts like Punta Cana ! Staff were very passive aggressive. Our entire stay the room above us furniture was moved back and forth all day and late at night, we were told no guests were staying there and the lock on the door was hanging off so assumed must be staff constantly sliding there chairs back and forth. Don’t mind some noise it seemed to echo and sound like a storm and woke us a lot, informed management 3 times told us they’d inform us of another room but they didn’t! didn’t care about the sleep we lost (personally think sleep is a bare minimum) nothing sorted or offered as nice gesture! When we arrived we dropped outside the block with no help upstairs with our bags to discover that our bracelets didn’t work and had to walk all the way back to reception (not a huge deal but when you’ve travelled 14 hours it’s not fun) The food and drink was very hit and miss, my boyfriend had 4 pieces of ravioli in portfino as his main! We aren’t big eaters but felt the food was either dry or under portioned. Drinks were very bang average. My shoes were also stolen from the pool which was super annoying. Overall any issues you have best of luck, really wish we went to Mexico instead as the customer service is million times better!
