Cincinnati, Ohio sits in the far southwest corner of the state on the banks of the Ohio River. The city known for its chili and its two professional sports teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. It’s also home to the nationally-recognized Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. As the nation’s second largest zoo, it houses more than 580 animal species and 3,000 plant varieties. The city’s location on the Ohio River made it a major hub of the Underground Railroad, the history of which is kept alive at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center which opened in 2004.
